Good screen not bright enough
on January 24, 2022
Posted by: Anonymous
This screen has an ok image quality but is relatively dim. The resolution is there but the screen doesn't pack the visual punch I expected. Following industry giants like Apple or Samsung we see smaller screens have become increasingly ultra bright. This increased brightness level is what is needed to appreciate the high resolution of smaller screens. Side by side comparison with a iPad Pro 12.9 M1 with mini LED leaves this screen pressed for comparison and questions the price of this unit. At 1500 nits on 4k hdr content, there's pretty much no difference between the iPad and this screen in terms of visible resolution (even tho the iPad isn't 4k) and the screen is hurtingly dimmer with this unit. Had this display been 600 nits or higher then possibly the list price would make more sense. Additionally there's a big issue with HDMI out from a PC and this display as windows often does not recognize it as a separate monitor or the display is not recognized at all. Overall if you're a aficionado of image quality, want a beautiful display for content consumption and expect to be blown away with this unit you probably won't be. The OLED technology at this size needs a brightness kick to be appreciated. As it is right now, it's not much better than an 4k LED screen. If you do print work or color grading and need a second monitor that can handle 4k input this may be an okay choice as has been mentioned by others who appreciate it for that scenario.

Magical Intensions

-Battery loses charge quickly after every use.
-no built in touch drivers - must use proper cord
-speakers emit annoying fuzz sound
-no headphone jack
-settings can only be seen if plugged into source.
-comes with super short cords.
-touches don't always register in my experience.

Great Display!

I was looking for an OLED monitor few years ago but it's way too expensive at that time. I decided to try this model as the price did catch my eyes. Have used this as 2nd monitor of my MacBook Pro for 4 days and it suprised me. This OLED portable monitor is definitely perfect.
Pros:
- Vivid color & bright & sharp display.
- Come with a color calibration report. Color is accurate for photo and video editing.
- Easy to set up everything. Just connect it with my laptop and got it working.
- Decent resolution. Very clear and sharp. It's FullHD but enough for 15.6inch.
- The case is slim and stylish.
Cons:
- Come with a smart cover rather than build-in stand. Not a big deal for me though.
Overall I LOVE IT!!

Excellent display quality with superb touch and pen
on February 7, 2022

The Display quality is excellent with crisp resolution (3840 X 2160). The Display, pen, and touch are plug-and-play on macOS Monterey and Windows 10. The accessories include a brick (rather large), one charging USB-C cable, one display USB-C cable, mini-HDMI to HDMI cable--all-white color. The included Cover is reasonable to protect the device but supports only one standing position. The battery life is a bit on the low side.
[Connectivity]: When the Display is connected to my Macbook 2020 Air (this is what I'm using currently) via USB-C, I can set the Display to charge the Macbook or not charge the device. Fortunately, the Display does not draw any power from the Macbook. Indeed, two USB-C ports are great for charging from the brick/battery and displaying simultaneously; either port can serve as charging or displaying. However, I've never tested out the mini-HDMI port because I'm not too fond of HDMI cables: they are non-reversible and susceptible to breakage compared to USB-C.
[Display]: The Display quality is excellent. Indeed, the Display (3840X2160) is crispier than the Macbook's screen (2560X1600). Furthermore, this Display at only 400 nits is brighter than the Macbook Air 2020's screen at 500 nits under full brightness. In addition, I'm surprised that the Display is readable at only 50% brightness under bright sunlight (70C with no clouds here during the winter), thus saving the battery life. Nevertheless, I haven't tested it in the summer, but the result should be similar. Therefore, this Display is excellent outdoors.
[Pen & Touch]: First of all, I'm surprised that this unit supports a pen with a Microsoft Surface Pen. The touch and pen work well when the device is plugged directly into the Macbook's USB-C. Unfortunately, the pen does not support tilt and pressure on the Mac. I have tried clipart studio pro to no avail. I still cannot find an MPP driver (Microsoft Pen Protocol) for the macOS. For instance, third-party drivers require their devices, such as X-Pen, even though they support the same protocol. In this case, the advantage of using a Pen is to have precision over touch. On the Mac, the touch gestures work precisely the same as the touchpad/trackpad (two fingers to scroll and a secondary button; four fingers to go to another desktop, exposé, and overview; pinch-to-zoom; etc.) with the absolute touch positions. I'm happy with all this except for the pressure and tilt.
[Battery Life]: The battery life can last around 2 hours at full brightness, and it can be longer if the Display is not this bright. The battery life for the "Eye" setting (lowering the blue intensity and increasing the brightness, which is non-adjustable) is around 3 hours. Therefore, it's best to keep a few extra USB-C external batteries if using this outdoors. When I charge the Display with 100W and 130W external USB-C batteries, the Display drains these batteries quickly--within hours, even without charging a device.
[Cover]: The Cover allows protection of the device while supporting the Display's stand-up. The back flap is like an Origami; it can fold in one or two positions, but I find the angle too steep to my liking. The photo attached here shows a modified version of the fold to get the Cover in the proper position (around 20-30 degrees for touch). I place an item between the Cover and the Display for extra leverages. However, doing so often deforms the Cover.

Best OlED for SDR VIDEO for the money!
on November 11, 2021

Hands down best OlED monitor for the money for SDR video work.
So at least 75 percent of all video content streamed is viewed on a mobile device and is manly using a oled panel. With very little tweaks in lifting the blacks in Nvidia controls. ( settings in photo) this panel matches a iPhone oled colors and black levels . Matches my Samsung 82 inch qled colors .yes it’s reflective but that is oled panels. I use it in my coloring suite at home near my lcd monitor with bias lighting in the back of the monitors so no reflection issues. A majority of my work is on my lcd monitor up until I need to color grade my video edits , then I turn on the oled panel and color grade with that panel as second monitor sending a clean feed in resolve. At the viewing distance on my desk it’s excellent. The oled pannel is so color accurate that I know when I color in resolve I get the same colors on my phone or tv as the end viewing that a majority of people are viewing videos.

A good start
on November 11, 2021

like - great price paid $655 plus tax, well build, 4k 60hz, beautiful screen and a good start for OLED. if lag would have been a bit lower, I would have given it a 5 start but I understand that this is not a gamer monitor.
Lag Test - Time Sleuth - on Game mode setting on the OLED -
4k - No supported by lag tester
1080p - top screen 20ms middle 28ms low 36ms
720p - top screen 21ms middle 28ms low 36ms
480p - there was no signal on the monitor coming from the lag tester
480i - top screen 36ms middle 44 low 51
did not like - lag is good but would have been better at 17ms or lower at 1080p and 720p, No 120hz support. I would like to see from INNOCN a 18-20" version, 4k 120hz and 17ms lag for gamers and at a decent price point.
MiSter, Analogue FPGAs devices, consoles, Pc.. etc work well.
edit - the oled monitor really shines with PC games and with the game profile on the monitor.. on nvidia make sure to set to RGB and Full range and play the games at 4k@60f, colors pops and very smooth frames. Color me very impress.
