What’s app?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It would be helpful to tell senior citizens they may need to go Bosch school to learn how to turn on their dishwasher. Everything about the controls only makes sense in the app. But it does take some open minded learning for seniors to turn the dishwasher on from their phone:)

Time will tell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The wine glass drop downs took up so much room I couldn't fit the actual glasses and mugs so I pulled them out (the stem size was too small for our wine glasses anyway). I'm not sure what type of dishes or silverware most people have but our silverware is too large for the top rack so we can only use every other one or they don't clean. And the closeness of prongs on the bottom are so close it doesn't give flexibility for the odd and miscellaneous items. If the crystal dry is the "best feature" you should be able to use it with each setting setting including "speed 60". I've heard rave reviews on Bosch... I'm not sure, I still miss my Kitchen Aid.

Great but wet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher works well with cleaning dishes; however, it doesn't dry the dishes well enough. Adult plates and glasses are mostly dry but anything made of bamboo or plastic remains wet (kids place settings).

Over-Engineered and Noisy
on November 29, 2024

I purchased this dishwasher to replace a 19-year-old Bosch panel-front model, and unfortunately, the new technology is a downgrade. The much-touted "PowerControl" arm is more of a gimmick than a benefit—it’s unnecessarily noisy, emitting an irritating plastic-like squeak during both washing and drying cycles. This noise is entirely audible and detracts from the overall experience. Additionally, it’s far from the quiet operation Bosch was once known for. The complex, geared design feels like a failure point waiting to happen.
To the designers constantly adding features: users don’t need granular control over cleaning strength in specific quadrants of the bottom rack. We just want our dishes cleaned effectively and quietly. The PowerControl feature is impractical—nobody is using it.
The noise issues don’t stop there. During drying, the fan is significantly louder compared to older Bosch models, producing a persistent low hum throughout the excessively long drying cycle. This wasn’t an issue with older designs, which were far quieter. The "CrystalDry" feature, another selling point, adds to the noise without delivering much value. On its own, CrystalDry leaves dishes wet; only by using the "Sanitize" option alongside it do you achieve an acceptable drying result. However, this comes at the cost of added heat, which may not be ideal for plastic items.
The biggest disappointment is how far Bosch has strayed from its reputation for low-noise dishwashers. A standard cycle now takes a staggering three hours. While it’s understandable that manufacturers must meet EPA water usage standards, Bosch could at least provide a truly effective, faster cycle. The "Speed 60" option is shorter but fails to include "Sanitize" or "CrystalDry," leaving dishes wet and impractical to use.
Overall, Bosch seems to have lost touch with what consumers actually need: fast, efficient, and quiet dishwashers. Instead, these models are slow, over-engineered, and noisy. Bosch should revisit its priorities and focus on real-world functionality rather than unnecessary features.

Satisfying appliance
on December 3, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed to replace our 20-year old, uber-reliable Miele dishwasher; but getting the same model today was going to cost more than 4K, so we looked elsewhere. We already use a Bosch dishwasher in our summer home and it's been a good appliace so based on that, we went for the higher end 800 series, with built-in panel. We've had it for one month now and it works great. Very silent, wide choice of functions and wash modes, a well designed set of trays that accomodate a lot of dishes (more than the Miele!), dishes come out clean (spotless glass wines, etc) so we are satisfied with this purchase. Hopefully it will last as long as our dear old Miss Miele...
