Nice printer, but not fast!

The printer does his job, but it is not very fast. It takes time to communicate from the PC to the printer, whether wireless or wired. The printer is alright for private use, but I do not recommend it otherwise. New to me was that you have to exchange the maintenance cartridge once or twice a year. Once full, the printer won't work until you replace it with a new one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great printer-scanner-copier-fax

Bought it at a very nice sale. Turns out to be a great all-in-one printer!
The color printer using ink tank makes ink consumables cheap in the long run. So far I have made many color photo printings. All great and pro looking. The ink levels are still near the top. Marvellous!
The scanner, particularly with the feeder, makes scanning multi-page document quick and easy. Thumbs up.
Overall, the printer is easy to set up. All my PCs and mobile devices are now connected. Print/scan with ease, anywhere within the network.
Absolutely no regret of the purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can't feed paper reliably

This printer is trying to be too many things in one and not doing a good job of anything. The key error here, is that it has a smaller "photo" print paper feed in the back that is offset to one side. What this means is that all regular paper is feed on ONE side (opposite the photo paper feed). The result is that paper feeds in a skewed fashion and jams or prints out of alignment and often folds the left corner as it enters the printer. We have tried many different types of paper and ALL behave the same. Running the roller cleaner before each print seems to lower the probability of an error by 20%.... poorly engineered. DO NOT BUY. Get a Brother - They are Canadian!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great printer. Works well on wifi which is what I needed. East setup which was slowed down due to small led screen. Once done it worked fine.

Pure Concentrated Garbage

I bought this to replace an older Epson Xp 830 printer as I print a lot and thought the mega tank system was the way to go. While it is a great concept, in every other aspect this printer is nowhere close to the Epson. Every time I try to print, my computer (Macbook Pro) can't find it without restarting everything in my house. My girlfriend has a PC and it is completely incapable of printing or scanning anything. It also cant do double sided scanning or printing which is a PITA for sure, especially when scanning legal documents.
Now lets talk about printing photos. While the Epson had 2 paper trays and could detect what was in them, with the Canon I have to take pare out, put in photo paper and then scroll through a list of every paper type ever made to 'reset' the printer to print. Then rinse, repeat repaper to re enter whatever your normal paper is.
While fully aware that most of these are really rich western person problems, we are where we are and if Epson can do it, so should Canon. I will be returning this dung heapo and buying the Epson, even if it is a little pricier

Printer works as expected. Interested to see how long the ink lasts. Only small complaint is that it doesn’t flip the paper to print on both sides.

Three months after purchase

The printer is just for a home that has occasional uses. Prints good quality photos. However, if you have daily use, it will give you headaches. It keeps disconnecting from network. Many times it even does not recognize my laptop with a wire connected. It is slow, noisy, and not easy to work with. I wish I had not bought it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this during the sale offer and this has been one great buy. The printer is mega tank and even includes fax option, although I don't use one, but this one has it.
The photo print is good quality, better than the loonie a print from Staples or Walmart. All in all I am all praise for this one.
