Great quality screen, but mounting/stand options could be better
on January 16, 2021

<>
Very good quality screen with good portability and compatibility. The mounting system could be more stable, and may be problematic for laptop models where the bottom edge of the laptop screen is more than a centimeter or so off the table.
<>
Pro: Comes with enough metal mounting discs to mount on three laptops/surfaces
Con: The four magnets are not strong enough to hold the screen securely to the monitor without slipping. Larger magnets, or two additional magnets and maybe some anti-slip rubber coating may make a difference.
<>
Pro: Looks great on the back of a laptop, sharp design.
Pro: Screen is good quality, clear and sharp, and good color, and has a great viewing angle.
Con: The unit we received has a dead pixel that is bright green, but I am assuming this is an anomaly.
<>
Pro: The hinges feel nice and firm, so I don’t feel like the screen is going to move without intentionally adjusting it.
Con: The sliding mechanism feels a little loose, and can settle slightly, causing the screen to tilt slightly. Not significant, but might be a problem over time.
Con: The bottom edge of the screen must be resting against a desk or table according to the manufacturer’s instructions. However, most laptops have a 1 to 3 centimeter gap between the bottom edge of the laptop screen and the table. This causes two problems: 1) Often this is where air vents are on the laptop, which can damage the laptop if blocked. 2) Sliding the screen down after opening the laptop screen will cause the magnets to disconnect from the metal plates. The instructions show how to mount the metallic discs while the screen is closed; however it might be better to instruct users to place the metal discs while the laptop screen is open to 90 degrees, and the bottom edge of the portable screen touching the surface the laptop is on.
Con: The requirement that the bottom edge of the laptop screen has to rest on the surface of the table or desk that is being used can be problematic for many models of laptop. More magnetic surface area would have been preferred to keep it stable instead.
Pro: Can sit easily in some cell phone or tablet stands. However, I do wish it had an integrated or magnetic kickstand of some kind.
<>
Pro: The presentation mode is a very useful feature.
Pro: Instructions are clear and easy to follow (though may need to be amended to accommodate laptops with larger distance between the bottom of the screen and the surface the laptop is on).
Pro: Inclusion of USB-C cable with USB-A adaptor is great.
Pro: Includes easy brightness controls and display options

Makes working on the road more productive
on January 16, 2021

When I travel, my computer setup is always an issue. I'm used to working on multiple monitors in my home and office but when traveling with a laptop my productivity declines since I don't have the screen real estate I'm used to. I've been known to lug around large desktop monitors to supplement my laptop but when I heard about this portable laptop monitor I had to give it a shot. Setup was quick and it attaches to my 17 inch laptop monitor well. I just ordered one to test it out but plan on ordering a second before my next trip. Two of these monitors will give me the screen real estate I've been missing for years while traveling and it fits easily in my laptop case.

Works, but won't stay on.

Though it works fine, it absolutely will not stay on my laptop. A friend has the same one but it has larger magnets. It's also difficult to find more magnets to fit. Probably need 8 magnets, just to keep it from falling off.

Magnets are small on the back … makes screen too heavy which forces the laptop to open too far

Magnets don't hold it on well..... Otherwise great screen

The magnet system is just not strong enough to hold the screen on with it extended. They say this in the literature if you read that it should be slid down to rest on the desk, however not everyone's laptop hinges at the bottom. I added some rubber gasket next to the magnets and that helped tremendously to add friction and prevent the screen from sliding. Simply adding some rubber bumpers or foam tape around the magnets makes this much more useable.

Mounting need to be refine

The four magnets that hold the monitor in place on your laptop are not strong enough. If you're not sliding the monitor out it is fine. As soon as you slide the monitor out from its pocket, the magnets cannot hold the monitor in place anymore. It is sad because I like it a lot.

Great for a portable screen for Nintendo Switch
on November 10, 2021

So I have read some reviews about how the magnets aren’t super strong and I unfortunately can’t review on those since I’m not using it that way.
How I am using this is for a portable display to connect my Nintendo Switch to so my friends and I can play Super Smash Bros. This display works great for the Switch with no setup needed—literally plug-and-play. The only drawback is no sound but we just plug a speaker into the headphone jack and we are good! You may ask why I didn’t just buy a TV that’s bigger for half the price, well, this is a lot more compact for storage when not in use and just easier to pack around.
So if you want a portable display for your switch, this is something to consider.
Setup is as follows: plug switch charger into USB C port with the lightning bolt then plug the switch into the other port and it will just connect as if it is docked.
