It's really too early to give a full review, but in the 4 or 5 times we've cooked on it over the last 2-3 weeks we like it very much. It's much easier to handle than the big Genesis Gas Grill we had for the last 15 years. It heats to over 500 in about 20 minutes. It seems to cook what we've done so far faster than the gas grill. Food tastes great. Using the Weber grill brush the grates clean easily. The bottom bowl however may be another story. We haven't as yet removed the element to clean the lower bowl or the lid. So far no regrets about this purchase.

VERY inadequate grilling instructions. Your instruction booklet is full of "don't do's" and practically nothing about "how to's".
Example: How long at what temp setting should you cook a 1/2" hamburger to medium, or well, or medium rare. You constantly empathize keeping grill lid shut and judt flip once so how is a person supposed to know when the way you want it. I've cooked hamburgers twice now and first time under cooked and second over cooked.
Did a NY strip steak and it came out beautifully. But I did lift lid multiple times to check it.

Unfortunately Florida laws prohibit the use of gas grills on condo lanais. I have tried several electrics over the years (including an expensive Kenyon that I just threw away) and the Lumin is the first to reach 600 degrees for searing steaks and burgers. Having the large temperature range has allowed cooking many different foods.

I have many grills and smokers; charcoal, pellet, and propane, plus the Ninja Woodfire oven. I wanted to add an electric grill and seriously considered the Ninja Woodfire Grill. After reading of issues with the Ninjas controller, pellet igniter, difficulty in cleaning the nonstick ridged griidle, I opted for the Weber Lumin for its simplicity and perfect size for my wife and me. My first cook was a reverse seared center cut tenderloin smoked with wood chips. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and grill marks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m gonna start with I absolutely love this electric grill! We go to a lot of horse shows we’re we stay all weekend. This is so easy to use and set up. So on show weekends this is a must for us to bring! I highly recommend to anyone that camps alot, or doesn’t have alot of space for a huge grill! Absolutely love!

Better Than Gas & Charcoal for Steaks and Burgers

Only one one cook so far, and I am loving this grill. I live in Texas and the outside temperature for my first cook was 85 degrees. The grill got to an indicated 700 degrees in 25 minutes. I lowered the power dial and kept it at 600 for searing the steaks and then lowered it to roughly 450 to finish and cook the burgers. Everything came out perfectly! Folks that say you need charcoal or a gas grill to help impart flavor to the meat really need to try this Weber Lumin. I completely cleaned the grill after the cook, and it was surprisingly easy. I didn’t even have to remove the heating element. I brushed the grill grates, removed them and washed in the kitchen sink. I used dish washing liquid soap in water and cleaned the interior lid and bowl. Total cleanup time was 15 minutes.
As far as flavor goes the ribeye steaks were delicious and the burgers juicy and cooked through. Overall very pleased, and I now prefer the Lumin to my Weber Traveler grill. Highly recommended! I haven’t tried the steaming, smoking, or warming functionality yet, but I definitely will.

Nice electric grill unlike the weber q2400 that never got hot enough and was impossible to clean. The q2400 quit working after 2 years, it was a real piece of junk. This new lumin seems better but lost faith in weber for selling the q1200 and q2400.
