This portable electric grill is just awesome. It has many features that much larger and more expensive grills have. Has a thermostat, a nice temperature range of choices, a steamer, attachment to smoke meats, the option to thaw meats before cooking them. I have grilled twice already and love the removable grates that can be placed in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. We are in our 70’s and enjoy grilling a few times each month. We grill year round enjoying our grill as much as the leaves that change in the fall in Pennsylvania. I look forward to slow grilling prime rib, but so far have only grilled our steaks. The Weber brand has always been one recommended because of the quality of workmanship that goes into each grill. I definitely recommend this grill to all of my friends and family.
I purchased this Lumin grill to replace an older small propane grill. I have been very happy with my new Lumin Grill, with the steamer basket I can steam corn on the cob, grill burgers and hot dogs at the same time. It heats up fast and I love the thermometer.
After preheating the grill is plenty hot and does a great job of cooking steaks ,burgers, dogs, etc. I'm sure chicken would be no problem too I just haven't done it yet. The grill is well made but it is heavy. A good and bad thing . Cleaning the interior is a bit of a pain . Its doable but I feel it could be made easier. I like that its fast, portable, doesn't require some kind of fuel to operate, and it does a great job grilling food for a few people.
Great grill that replaced a Weber Q1400 electric grill! Only complaint is cooks hotter than our old grill. Wish there was a cooking chart for various foods included with the grill!
The Lumin Compact Electric Grill has been absolutely fantastic for me. Moving in a condominium building where it is forbidden to use a gas or charcoal BBQ i was initially devastated. Most of my acquaintances who had electric BBQ's were very negative about electric Bbqs. I researched all products in this class to determine if there was any product that would satisfy my needs...after years of really exciting bbquing on charcoal and electric bbqs. Reviews of the Lumin really got my attention. True , the Lumin is more expensive than most other products in its class. Also ,YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO COOK on an electric BBq. That is, you cannot keep the cover open and constantly turn the food around. It only takes about 20 minutes to get the temperature up to 650 dec F.,,,,wow...that is HOT. I found that i must open the cover quickly slip my steak(s) close the cover fast and let it cook for 2-3 minutes...rapidly opening the cover the least number of time possible SO NOT TO LOSE THE VALUABLE HEAT. Once you get the hang of it ...if is great BBqing.
Just learning the differences between cooking on electric vs propane, charcoal or a traditional smoker. So far, so good - literally good, and yummy. I purchased it as I no longer have need for my larger double burner Weber gas grill, plus small enough to store inside, thus avoiding the buildup of green and white moldy stuff during the wet dark northwest winters. The only negative so far is that it's so pretty, I hate to get it dirty with the grilling process. 😢
