Regret buying this unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace an 18 year old microwave that recently died. This gets the job done but we regret buying it. The wattage is lower than our old microwave and I didn’t realize how big of a deal that was to have a lower wattage unit.We’re still trying to figure out the correct cooking times for our frequent meals.
Another problem is that the clock doesn’t stay on. It will turn off a short time after using it and then randomly turns on when we aren’t using it. I’m not it sure if it’s broken or if that’s just how it is.
The light in the microwave and on the bottom are also very dim.
We would have returned this but the store has a 50% restocking fee.

A good rule of thumb is to increase cooking time in small increments (about 10-15%) for dishes that need extra heating. You might also try covering food to retain moisture and promote even heating.
2. Clock Display Behavior – The clock on this model is designed to turn off after a period of inactivity as part of an energy-saving feature. However, if you believe it's behaving erratically, we’d be happy to troubleshoot further with you.
3. Dim Lighting – The interior and exterior lights are designed for efficiency, but if they seem unusually dim, we recommend ensuring the unit is on a dedicated circuit and that the bulbs are securely in place.
