Initially this mattress was the most comfortable I've ever used. I'd say around year 4 I noticed it had begun to lose its firmness and support. And now here at 5.5 years it is soft and unsupportive. It sounds like other users have had better luck with longevity, but it's been a very disappointing loss of quality and sleep for my spouse and I.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bad chemical smell

Mattress was soft and comfortable but I was never able to sleep on it because the offgassing was irritating. It was kept in a separate room for 3 weeks with open windows and fan and never improved. The bed tag states it was made at Sinomax in Tennessee so maybe there is something wrong with the manufacturing there. I returned it and after researching healthier alternatives purchased an organic mattress that didnt cost much more than this one.

Terrible support

We were needing new mattresses 5 years ago. I was pregnant with our 3rd and the mattresses we had were killing my back. So I searched and searched and found T&N. Read the remotes read through the website. Finally made the purchase. And I loved it. Slept great, at first. Fast forward 5 years and 3 months and my husband can no longer sleep on this mattress and every morning I wake up with my back hurting. He started having back issues 4 years ago and it wasn’t until I started feeling the same that I realized it’s due to this mattress. It dips in the middle, if I lay a certain way I can feel it hurting my back, any time I move he feels it and always has. There’s just absolutely no support and no comfort left in this mattress. We rotate the mattress regularly and that seems to have made it worse.

This is our second Tuft & Needle mattress purchase. Our first is on my husband’s & my bed. We found it to be so comfortable that we purchased one for our guest room bed. The fact that it comes compact in a box was very helpful to us as we live in a 125+ years old house with a small turning staircase. No more bringing furniture & mattresses in through the second floor window!! Our son & his wife are the ones who introduced us to Tuft & Needle brand and we’re happy they did. We highly recommend this mattress!

So Disappointed

We bought our first original mattress in 2014 to replace our sleep number and we loved it so much we told everyone we knew about this amazing mattress in a box. We even bought any of our five children one that needed a new mattress. Over the years we have bought five of them. A week ago we replaced our beloved 10 year old Queen mattress with a new king original mattress. They are like night and day. From night one our 2014 mattress was like heaven to sleep on, this 2025 original mattress is hard and I can’t get comfortable. So disappointed and we will be sending back to try something different.☹️
