Because my friends would most likely not be ordering a twin, and that's what I have. I can't vouch for lack of a valley in the middle of a larger mattress, but I had a great experience with the set of twin beds I bought for my teen daughter

It's a great bed and hat offers plenty of support. The only thing that it falls slightly short in is heat dispersion and management.
