Crafting Accomplishments and Imagination

The Iron Golem Fortress by LEGO® and Minecraft® is the perfect build for Lego and Minecraft lovers alike. We are extreme Lego Minecraft fanatics. The set is made for ages 9 and up. I had no issues making this build. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. You can see your progression on the bottom with a Lego character getting closer to the end of the line. It makes getting closer to the goal more inspiring. The Iron Golem Fortress is full of great details. The set has only pros and no cons. I love how it can transform from a fortress into a towering giant. It's so cool. It has a sleeping chamber with a blue and rare yellow bed. It also has a main entrance and a map room. The Iron Golem is my favorite neutral utility mob. He is known for defending players and villagers. My favorite part of the Iron Golems character is that he passes out poppies in the game to villagers, so I love that it comes with poppies. There are two poppies unless you count the extra one made from spare pieces. Then you can have three poppies. It also includes a crystal knight, a golden knight,2 Skelington horses, a charged creeper, a treasure chest with an iron sword and an iron ax, 2 silver bars, a furnace, and an Iron Golem. I was most excited by the 2 skeleton horsemen that included helmets and bows, the charged creeper, and of course, the Iron Golem. The set has 202 easy-to-follow steps for completion. There are a total of 868 pieces in the collection. Lego sets always have a couple of extra pieces which is a lot of fun for extra creativity. The LEGO® and Minecraft® Iron Golem Fortress is fun to build. It also makes for a lot of fun pretend play.

A fun builds!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son and I really enjoyed this build. He’s a Minecraft lover, so this was right up his alley! It took around 3 hours to complete from start to finish. The only con to this build was attaching the head piece. It’s quite a bit of legos stacked on top of each other, making it a bit unstable at times, resulting in legos coming apart and needing to re-build. Needless to say it’s top heavy. It displays nicely though. We had a lot of fun building it! The final look is perfect! Thanks Lego, for yet another amazing set! Highly recommend!

A pleasant surprise.

Built the set as I wanted to accentuate my growing Minecraft collection with the skeleton horses and Iron Golem. The Golden Knight figure is extremely well done, definitely a top 10 for me. I would like to bring the biggest flaw to attention. Anyone who buys Lego products by the truck load knows in some cases that Lego may intentionally add a couple smaller pieces when 1 large piece does the same job, i.e 1x2 plates next to each other when a 1x4 or 2x2 plate is also applicable or in this sets instance 1x1 short bricks stacked up when a 1x1x5 brick would've worked. I will say this set is not as bad as others on this ordeal as it gives us small pieces in colors we don't have yet. I have to ask though, why not just make the small pieces greeble rather than actual structure and keep the structure simple with as few pieces as possible? I've seen multiple cases where this adds unnecessary stresses to the pieces, thus leading to multiple pieces breaking rather than a singular part. Overall, this set is pretty fantastic, great parts if you don't build the set at all, but some unnecessary building techniques are present. A high 3 star to mid 4 star set if you ask me.

My family has been working on this a little bit here and there, and it's great to watch it come together. The instructions are very easy to follow, and everything is laid out and organized nicely. I can't wait to see how it turns out in the end. It had given my family hours of fun!

There are lots of pieces and he was very excited about the amount of mini-figs he received in the set. He was able to put the set together, independently. This is a great product for both the Lego or minecraft fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kiddos loved this. They were so excited to build this Lego set. The instructions easy to follow and the bags were marked correctly. Definitely a favorite when the kids are absolutely obsessed with Minecraft. The only downside is a couple pieces were missing but nothing that dampens the kids mood.
