Really good set, but could have been better

While I love this set, I still think it could have been just a little bit better. The main thing that could have it better is of course the bubble turrets on the wings. Although I don't mind the stud shooters replacing them. I also kinda wish there was a clone pilot or two with this set, but already know Shock Troopers do know how to fly a LAAT.
While I wish these changes were implemented, that is not to say I disliked this set. From the moment I saw the first leaked image I fell in love with this set. As a longtime Star Wars fan, I had to get my hands on this set. Even though I still have the older 2008 set sitting in pieces at my house.
Oh the other thing I like about this set, is how long it took to build. As someone who's building legos for about 20 years, I thought this set was gonna take me an hour or so to build. Boy was I wrong, this set took me 3 hours to build, and I loved that. I personally think the best part of having a lego set is building it.

Shock Troopers!!!

This set is great! And it finally has Shock Troopers and a Commander Fox! The other Minifigures are great too. The cockpit falls off easily, but it's still a good set.

The major issue I had with the set had to deal with commander Fox and his chest print. The white did not come out with the red. Altering the color to pink.

Very cool build!!!

I own an older, bigger version of the regular gunship. I also own an older, bigger version of the at-te set that shares the same price point. The commander Cody makes the at-te worth it for me and the ship build makes this gunship worth it for me. This set is not without downsides, the Palpetine and Padme figures are cool and from a story standpoint it absolutely makes sense to include them, however i personally would have been fine with just clones. Or maybe just clones and either 1 or the other of the senators. With the at-te build I was upset with the size loss compared to my previous version, and the build was cool but not that great or sturdy. This set however has one of the most sturdy builds I have seen from a Lego ship of any size. I was beyond impressed and thrilled to see the cool puzzle like effect of the support pieces. You would build a section and end up with a random piece hanging out, only later to find out it connected to an upcoming section in a very unique way that bonded the sections but also added incredible structure. I’m not kidding when I say I think this is the most sturdy Lego set I personally own. When it’s done it feels so dense and sturdy in all the right ways. I was so impressed I test dropped it 3 times from various heights because I was sure it wouldn’t explode like most sets. First 2 drops were perfect and the 3rd the door section unclicked but that was the only damage. Clicked it back in and was ready to roll again. I bought 2 more just so I can build them again later on down the road. Very awesome ship! Definitely much smaller than previous versions but the design makes up for it. Mini figures are decent and I enjoy the clones they came with but overall I think the figs are the weekpoint of this set. Basically, if you’re buying just for the clones then you may be disappointed. If you appreciate a good build then this is an amazing buy! Maybe even buy the limit so you can make a little fleet!!

im so appreciative of lego for rereleasing a gunship. dont get me wrong we could of gotten a clone pilot but ill take what i can get. a padme , the chancellor, AND commander fox in phase 2? some people are super quick to hate on this set and compare it to the older gunships, but THIS is minifig scale and accurate all the way from the back to the front of the ship. i dont know if ill be picking up a second one of these due to the select figs avaliable in it but it looks SO great.

Great Set With Some Hiccups

I wanted a Republic Gunship for so long as a kid but I missed out on all of them. So when I found out this one was coming out I was hyped. I think I prefer this red variant over the traditional white. Good build however there should have been two doors on the sides because with only one it makes placing the figures inside very cumbersome. All the figures look fantastic except Commander Fox who clearly has some sort of print defect, his torso should be white like the rest of the figure but it has a heavy pink tint to it. He doesn't look very good. Overall, great set though and I'm so glad to have a gunship in my collection now!

A Fine Addition

I have loved Star Wars Lego sets since their inception, and the Coruscant Guard Gunship is no exception! I usually purchase sets that will look great on our display shelves and have high play-ability. My son enjoys recreating Star Wars scenes in Lego stop-action, and this gunship and minifigures will add more depth to his arsenal.
