I LOVE THIS BUILD. The detail in this house and the minifigs are amazing. I built this in a matter of days and loved finding all of the different details from the movie within the build.

I absolutely love this house. The movie itself has a place in my heart. Having the house is the icing on the cake. This build proved more difficult than first anticipated. Some of the pieces fit so delicately in place I was rescuing them multiple times. Often the pieces that went inside the house would come loose and I’d need to get in there with my chunky fingers and try to fix them. When all was said and done I was very happy. It sits proudly in my office for me to enjoy through my workday. I do not recommend this be played with. As stated some pieces fit delicately on. My nephew talked me into letting him use it as a spooky train station (he’s 4) and I guess the temptation not to touch was too great. Little parts were removed and internal pieces were jostled loose. It took me 2 hours but I was able to get it back together. Just a cautionary tale this is not little kid friendly. But we love it and it’ll always have a place in my office.

Poor design build

Great concept. Love the cottage. But…. Way too much is happening inside. The roof design makes it incredibly difficult to access the inside. I’ve never been a fan of the Lego roof designs. They are not very sturdy. The waterwheel design is terrible.
I was close to completing the cottage and the waterwheel came apart. I am now in the process of disassembling the cottage in order to fix it.

Movie accurate! Flimsy build & not for playing

This was great, all the Easter eggs, rat tail etc. flimsy build, the pieces did not stay well. The wheel that turns the purple flames up and down kept breaking, and then you can’t get at it to fix it. Very compact. Not for play. Can’t really see in the house. Needed hinges to open up more. Too stuffy. Favorite movie and accurate build. Wish it came with a Billy! And the two bullies.

One of the flimsiest Lego sets I have recently put together and no access to any of the interior "areas of play". When putting this up on my shelf I barely grazed a candelabra, which fell behind the fireplace mech. No amount of shaking or turning the whole set upside would remove this fallen piece from it's stuck location. I had to completely disassemble the set to remove the piece. Then putting it back together a bottle piece fell of the book shelf in the corner. Once again full disassemble just to gain access to the bookshelf in question.
Lastly the fireplace effect doesn't work at all. Spent a good hour checking the piece placement and build and it still does not work. Wheel gets caught and the shaft for the flames becomes disconnected.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I grew up with Hocus Pocus and was obsessed with the movie, so when this Lego set was released I knew I HAD to add it to my collection. I had such a great time building this set. I love the attention to detail.
