This was a present from my wife for our 48th Anniversary. I liked the set because of the potential for freeform creations using the different components. So far I am working my way through the Lego suggested builds and once (more like IF) my wife decides we have put up enough Christmas decorations, I hope to have more free time to explore the possibilities. One suggestion: Lego sets for older adults containing bigger pieces- it's sometimes hard to build with the smaller pieces with arthritic fingers and vision problems. We don't always have access to a 6 year old to help us.

Let your imagination run wild

I chose to free build this one. I guess I’m not a “modern art” builder because my construction came out looking like a scene I always drew as a child. I love it but this was definitely challenging for me, especially trying to get the circular and square legos to mix, and making my imagination work in overdrive to come up with something so unique. It did take me 3 long nights of building and rebuilding until I got each element I wanted. Also I’m glad I had a lot of extra legos from my previous builds to pull from!

Ok so, first I have to say that I LOVE the design of the art once it's assembled. I didn't realize how much I loved abstract art until this set. The size fits perfectly on my wall and is very easy to hang up. The size is perfect and really is so eyecatching!
I do have to say though that the instruction booklet can be a little confusing...you HAVE to read it thoroughly! I made that mistake...At first, it will seem like you're just putting little pieces together for nothing but I promise it will all pay off in the end; those are the parts you need to build the art.
*Important* If you want to build one of the four pieces that are shown on the box, turn to page 92 as this tells you the correct page to turn to in order to build one of the four images. Otherwise, have fun building your own original piece!!!
The set is really fun and I plan on purchasing more so I can have a super unique art wall!!

I’ve had so much fun with this set! The colors are so eighties. I assembled the components as suggested in the directions and created some art. Then I disassembled most of them and things REALLY got interesting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our family loves building Legos and we are proud of our beautiful Lego Collection! The latest addition to our collection is the Lego Modern Art set which is honestly very Unique! It does require a bit of patience but once you get a hang of it you'll be in awe of how well designed this product is! The product has been designed keeping in mind the intricate details. I love how engaging this set is and kept us busy for hours . We still have fun playing around with the designs! The colors are Very Vibrant. The set has a whopping 805 pieces which come neatly packaged in seven packets and a very detailed instruction manual! I plan to get one for my niece who is moving into her dorm soon! Makes for a great present. We'll designed & Sturdy product! Loved and recommended by our Family!
P.S. Don't be intimidated by the number of parts and just go with the flow! It's a lot of fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nearly 200-page instruction booklet looks intimidating, but the instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. Most of the pages show you how to build the individual pieces, which will then be used to create three-dimensional art. This set also includes a brick separator, which facilitates disassembly. Trust me when I say that your fingernails will thank you once you figure out how to use it!
The large blue circle is impressive and frustrating at the same time. Who would have thought that you could create an almost 100% perfectly round circle using mostly square and edgy LEGO pieces? However, for some reason, it is insanely hard to attach it to any of the other pieces, including the frame.
Get those creative juices flowing while you create and recreate, mix and match different shapes and colors to create a one-of-a kind art piece. I quickly realized that I should have paid more attention in art class and that filling the "blank canvas" is much harder than it seems. Without the instructions, I feel a little lost, but it’s still a lot of fun and really relaxing to try to create an eye-pleasing and unique art piece. Thankfully, the manual shows you how to build four different modern art pieces. Impressively, some of the projects even use each and every Lego piece without looking cluttered.
