Great Set

This spring, I toured Himeji Castle and climbed the passages to visit each floor. When I saw this set it was a must have. I usually build sets with my grandkids (9 and 5). I was in no hurry to complete the set and that was a good thing because there were several missing pieces. Waiting for the pieces slowed the process, but I wasn't in a hurry. Lego support has sent the missing bricks and I have the large Architectural kit that I could "borrow" some of the pieces to complete the build. In the castle, there is a narrow passage that has a wall designed to collapse by pulling the "Keystone" brick. Now that would be an amazing add to this set.

A Beautiful Repllica

I've been to Himeji, and spent the day climbing the keep and prowling the castle grounds. I think this is clearly the most accurate and beautiful architectural model Lego has ever produced. The building techniques were ingenious, with a few interesting surprises along the way (that's a good thing!). However, I must register a complaint: the instruction book was missing an entire section and had another section completely out of order. Lego will replace the book, of course, but if didn't have such a high-resolution color printer with which to print the instruction download, I'd be sitting on my hands for the next couple of weeks instead of finishing of the landscaping later today.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Cool, Enjoyable Set

I bought this set from someone, and even though it took me several hours to build, it was a lot of fun! It was complex enough to keep me entertained, and I especially liked the little tidbits of information about the castle sprinkled throughout the Instruction Packet. And as a fan of Japan and Japanese culture, it was really neat to be able to build a landmark of such historical and cultural significance! Would DEFINITELY recommend this set for anyone who especially likes models of monuments and buildings!

Faulty Lego Piece

Very beautiful and fun to build! However, one of the pieces in the set looked like it didn’t finish being created. It ended up not being a big deal but for how much it costs I was a little disappointed.

Be mindful of misprints in instruction booklet

I enjoyed building this set, but my instruction booklet is missing nearly 20 pages of steps when I finished up bag 8. Instead of moving on to bag 9, it just repeated previous steps. Not sure if it's just my bad luck, but mindful of this if you like to collect the instruction booklets.

Exquisite building set to keep the travel memory

Had a very enjoyable day with this new architectural model of Himeji Castle. I was lucky enough to visit 姫路城 back in 2019. A magnificent set, kids are absolutely enthralled by it too, so it’s a perfect family activity. Though I wish Lego had included the shachihoko(鯱鉾) which are those ancient mythical creatures that decorate the roof of the castle.

Terrible build

I’ve been building this for a few days now and Every-time I build it, it starts to crumble in my hands, because of the base of the structure keeps falling apart or popping off. I try and build and it crumbles I give it a few days and it crumbles again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
