fantastic set, with a few flaws

Was pleasantly surprised with how solid the fang fighter is as well as its size, the tie interceptor is fantastic, also solid like the fang fighter, with even more detail, the tie pilot is nice, and the mandalorian fleet commander is excellent, I like the imperial astromech though a figure more relevant to the scene/show would have been preferred. the inclusion of "the mandalorian" though appreciated I feel is a waste of a minifigure slot as he appears is a lot of sets currently in production. gripes with the figures aside a small stand to hold up the tie interceptor would for me have made this set much closer to a 5/5 as when static the technic connections for the lower wings have stress put on them. Unfortunately I also received a decently warped piece, specifically one of the main panels for the tie wing, some time under hot water and shaping helped but I am still wary that it will warp the other pieces connected to it. regardless of shortcomings this set is fantastic, decent figures, overall good value, and can see this being an excellent gift both for younger and older lego enthusiasts.

Nearly Perfect

This set is almost perfect. The builds are pretty simple. Both ships are perfectly symmetrical, so experienced builders will find places to save time. The Interceptor looks amazing, and is very close to mini-figure scale. It is much bigger than the 2021 TIE Fighter but it scales very well with the 2018 TIE Fighter (pictured). Its only flaw is color accuracy - there is a lot of noticeable dark grey on the exterior. I was not initially thrilled about the Fang Fighter, but it is better than expected, and the windshield looks nice. The cockpit is large enough to comfortably hold the Mandalorian pilot with his jetpack on. The mini-figures are mostly great, with the only flaw being the Mando mini-figure. Mando has been, and will continue to be, in plenty of sets. This would have been a great opportunity for any army-building character like a Stormtrooper, Mandalorian soldier, or even an Imperial droid of some kind. That would have made the set truly perfect, and would have added value to buying multiple sets. Overall, this is an awesome set, even with the flaws, and it would be great to get more sets like it.

This set is not only Great for Kids but for adult collectors they look absolutely phenomenal, the builds are nice and sturdy and they won't break if they're being played with too rough. I bought Two and don't regret it one bit, Great minifigure selection, Its a great play set for whomever received it, a definite Eye Catcher props to the designers Well Done, virtual handshake!

Finally!

FInally the Tie Interceptor we've been waiting for and deserve!
The overall design of the Tie is AWESOME! The only thing I would do differently is to change out the silly blue technic pieces with grey or black. Its fine to make interior pieces bright colors if you want (still unnecessary) but please don't do that with exterior pieces visibile in any way.
Besides that, it is exceptionally well done.
The Fang Fighter is also VERY well done. The only thing I would change to that would be to add a little landing gear so it doesn't sit like a piece of paper on the desk. Besides that its great!
Mando is the nice one with arm printing and a dark saber piece (also finally!) but the hilt is still not unique. That's OK with this set though cause he's really not that important to it. That said, I would have preferred a different figure but that;s fine.
The Blue Mandalorian is great. Nothing to add.
The Tie PIlot is very good, but needs to be either a blank all black headpiece, or one of those head sock pieces printed. Due to the nature of the Tie Pilot helmet being so high in the back, it shows a lot of head which isn't canon because Tie Pilots wear fully enclosed space suits. This is an easy fix though. I'll swap out with one of the earlier Mandalorian battle pack figures.
The Imperial Astromech looks great...but I'm not sure what its doing in this set. Instead of Mando and the droid that makes no sense in the set, I would have preferred Paz and one of the Imperial jetpack troopers. That would have made the figure selection perfect.
For two ships this good and 4 minifigs, I didn't expect much else in the way of accessories or scenery, etc. I'm glad they put all that effort into the best playset Tie Interceptor they've made.
Collectable. Playable. Stackable. Well done Lego!

2 for 1

I enjoy the detail in the advanced TIE fighter, and works well with my other 2 TIEs. It has poor weight distribution for my display system.
The Mandalorian fighter is larger than I expected, pretty flat, but good weight distribution for display.

Well worth it for the collector or kid

I enjoyed the build (mostly). I’ve had minor pieces missing from sets before but this is the first time a larger piece was missing. A large triangular piece needed for the the Tie Fighter wing is missing. It’s not something I have in the spare parts and so the Tie fighter is unfinished until I get the missing piece. My nephew’s play with the ships in my collection and want to play with the Tie Fighter more than any of the others. That’s why I say this set is worth it for the collector of the kids.

Tie Interceptor, is sick!

The Tie is excellent and scaled properly too! Looks great with the other vehicles that are scaled similarly. I would prefer this as the standard for SW fighters both in scale and build versus the down-sized versions.
The Fang fighter is a solid little build and pretty cool. Unfortunately, it seems a bit lackluster compared to what could have been. No landing gear, no wing rotation, studs everywhere. Seems a bit incomplete. However, in striking contrast the cockpit is highly refined and the canopy piece is really nice. If only the rest of the ship was as detailed.
Of course, the best mini fig is the Mandalorian. His armor is super cool! The rest of the figs are okay. Mando’s new helmet, face-print, and Darksaber piece are nice.
Overall, excellent simply for the Tie alone. The rest is bonus at a cost.
Compared to the last duel set - Tie Advanced v. A-Wing, I would say this is up there but not the best due to the fact that both the ships in the older set are as good as it gets.

Scale seems off. Does NOT match TIE Bomber set.

These don't look like they are even remotely the same scale. The TIE Interceptor looks about 1.5x bigger than it should be. It's also much bigger than the recent fantastic TIE Bomber set. I had planned to place the Interceptor next to the Bomber, but the Interceptor looks so awfully oversized that now I wish I'd never bought it.
As for the Fang, Wookiepedia says the TIE should be slightly longer than the Fang, whereas the Lego Fang is actually slightly longer than the TIE, but they still look awful when compared side to side. I wish the Interceptor was smaller, not that the Fang was bigger.
