Amazing Heat Pump!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own two of these units now and have owned them for over 5 years. The A/C blows cold and the heat function works great, this is truly an all season unit. It is a great source of cheap heat. The heat pump is strong down to exactly 35 degrees, then it has to switch over to electric backup heat. Other reviewers complain that the heat is weaker when it gets cold. However, this is due to the 120 volt design of this unit. The electric back up heat must be used when it is below 35 degrees outside otherwise using the heat pump mode would cause it to freeze. Most heat pump window units are 240 volt and have the electrical capacity to include powerful and expensive electric heat for when it gets very cold. The only solution for this is for Frigidaire to include an automatic defrost functionality into the unit. I would pay so much money for this, and even more for an inverter model too. I do not understand why these are not more popular, the heat pump is three times more efficient than a space heater above 35 degrees.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit is easily heating a building measuring 16 x 24 even when the temp. in in the upper 20's. Haven't had a chance to check it out for our hot Texas summers yet, but I think it will be able to keep it comfortable.

My 2 main gripes are:
The instructions on removing the face cover were inadequate and we were scared to break it.
When eco mode is off the fan can be loud with a metallic sound.

Other than those 2 things we love it for our master bedroom. It keeps it very comfortable and is usually quiet. It has saved is a lot of money as we have not had to run the central air since we keep our main room very comfortable.
I am pleased with the installation overall and it was much easier to put in the chassis first. Needs better instructions for taking the face plate off but other than that it was easy.

Multiple Options for Cool and Heat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just completed installing this unit. Once the air conditioner was removed from the cabinet (it was a bit tight) installation went smoothly. All parts were included and we attached them where necessary. Having older, wooden windows required building up the window casing to allow a firm fit for the unit. Relatively quiet. Multiple options for both cool and heat settings. It was 93 degrees outside, today, but 72 degrees and comfortable inside! Can't wait to try out the heat settings this winter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this unit to replace the 6 year old 11K unit that was starting to become noisy did not cool as good as it did the first few years . I was surprised at just how quiet this unit really is . The heat function works very well and is keeping the bedroom nice during these January cold spells we are having . I am very satisfied with the unit and hoping it lasts many yeras .
