[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smart, stylish, sophisticated, multitasking, high performance laptop is a great product. Its light weight and easy to carry make it mobile. This laptop has many great features like awesome picture quality (4k) top notch sound (dual stereo speakers), sturdy, rugged aluminum casing and have very good battery life. This workstation helps me with my editing and 3D designing work, the graphics quality is great (Nvidia graphic card). Color display and sound quality is so cool it convinces me to watch my favorite shows on it too. My husband who is in semiconductor industry management, he is a tech expert also love this device. I like the feature of camera shutter provides privacy; web cam is 5MP. It has photo identification option and fingerprint scanner too. The display can lay almost flat to make it very easy to view from every angle. Processor is (12th Gen 1.70 GHz Intel Core i7) fast enough to perform multiple tasks efficiently and quickly without lagging. When you buy new device it's really a big fuss to transfer data, this device has SSD (solid state drive) which makes this process silky and smooth for me. 16GB RAM and Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS. The laptop screen has light and color sensors which enables me to work continuous without being too stressful on my eyes. The display is not reflective does reflect sunlight during daytime use. Touch pad is big and easy to handle and work well even without a separate mouse. This device is provided with full size back lit, spill resistant keyboard. Port options are pretty good in it (2 USB A, 2 USB C, HDMI etc.). This device comes with HP Wolf security which provides me defense from ever growing list of viruses, this security system easily traps threats, fights malware, monitor and flags against suspicious websites. The only thing I am missing in this device is no pen or touch input, otherwise perfect for me, I am loving it.
Cons: More RAM, Smoother Mouse Pad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work in a field that requires me to be able to use and analyze data quickly with different types of software that are relevant to each organization. This type of fieldwork requires a pretty impressive computer and laptop. I took this laptop to work with me and travel over 1400 square miles with 5 different organizations and their multiple sites. Here are my thoughts: the computer was able to hook up to different wifi and run effectively. It ran the data programs quickly and easily while allowing me to also work with multiple screens with the extra memory. The display is great, the keyboard has a nice feel with a soft backlight. There is a fingerprint reader to allow added security which I need. There are multiple plugs to assist with all of the organizations' different technology hookups (USB ports, HDMI, etc.) and adding multiple screens. A couple of the best features for me, besides the speed, are the light weight and quietness of the fan. While the processing speed and quickness to run the programs are necessary, the light weightiness of the laptop was a pleasant bonus (2.9 pounds)with the extra screens I carry (two). The battery on a pretty hectic workday lasts me about 2 hours to an hour and a half. The touch mouse pad is pretty big, easy to use, and very responsive. However, if you are a gamer, or need to click through items pretty fast, you will want a mouse. The cons I feel about the computer are: the battery, I wish it lasted longer. If you need to click quickly and fast you will need an external mouse to add on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically am using this for excel use and browsing the web. This is able to handle some pretty large and data heavy files i am working in without getting too hot. Quick response times even when it is using a ton of memory on my files. The screen is beautiful looking and the touchpad is easy to use. Overall a solid laptop, especially if you want power and for it to be pretty light weight.
Pros: Lightweight

A solid mid-range laptop for work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The laptop I'm testing is an HP ZBook Firefly 14 inch G9, which is intended primarily for professional use. The device specifications, as reported in Windows Settings, are as follows:
It is configured with a 500 GB solid state drive. The display is 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz, so it's not a super hi-res screen (not what Apple would call a "Retina display," in other words), but it looks nice enough. There is no touch or pen support. It has integrated Intel graphics, as well as a discrete NVIDIA T550 Laptop GPU with 4 GB of GDDR6 memory.
There's a built-in fingerprint reader, which worked reliably in my testing. The keyboard feels reasonably nice. The trackpad supports multi-touch gestures, and is fine. By default, the trackpad translates fairly gentle taps as clicks, so I quickly turned that off, as I was experiencing accidental clicks quite frequently. With that turned off, the trackpad feels pretty good. It's not as nice as Apple's trackpads, but it's certainly fine.
The webcam is listed as a 5MP HD IR camera. It's nothing special, but I participated in a video call, and it worked well enough. It brags about "audio by Bang & Olufsen," but I'm not sure exactly what the renowned Danish company contributed here. The built-in speakers do sound above-average for a laptop though, and they get decently loud.
There's WiFi 6E support, which is nice, as well as Bluetooth 5.2.
The left side of the laptop features an HDMI 2.0b port, a USB-A (SuperSpeed) port, two Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Type-C ports, and a Smartcard reader. The right side has a headphone/microphone combo jack, and another USB-A (SuperSpeed) port. The included power cord is 65W with a Type-C connector.
Windows 10 was pre-installed, and HP unsurprisingly pre-installed a whole bunch of their own stuff. Some of that HP software seems to be for diagnostics and support, and some of it is security-oriented. Much of the pre-installed HP software seems redundant, as it duplicates features that are built into Windows. It includes a year of HP's "Wolf Pro" security software, which includes antivirus, anti-phishing measures, and so on.
For tasks like web browsing or word processing, this machine performs admirably. I was able to play fullscreen 1080p videos on YouTube without any performance issues, though I did tend to hear the fan kick in when doing so. As fans go, however, it's not terribly loud. Upon leaving YouTube, the fan pretty quickly went silent. With the built-in display, there was no point in attempting to play videos at higher resolutions, and I did not have a compatible external 4K display available for testing.
I installed the latest version of Adobe Photoshop via my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and opened a 24 megapixel photo. I used an external mouse for this testing. By and large, editing the photo performed pretty well. Occasionally, the effects would lag just a tad behind my cursor or clicks or keypresses. Certain filters took several seconds to apply, but there were no long waits. Things like removing a subject from its background or using the type tool or brushes worked well enough. For a true pro, Photoshop performance might not quite meet expectations (given that I did experience a little bit of lag at times), but if your needs aren't super-demanding, it performs well enough.
The NVIDIA GPU is, as far as I can tell, optimised for professional applications, as opposed to games, but I did a little gaming to try it out nonetheless. I tested DOOM (2016), which I installed via Steam. It was a reasonably demanding game in its day, although its day was 6 years ago. Frankly, it still looks quite good. It just doesn't have some of the latest graphical features, like ray-tracing. Alas, the GPU on this machine doesn't support ray-tracing anyway, so no loss there. DOOM defaulted to 1920x1080 (which was slightly letterboxed, since that's a 16:9 aspect ratio, and the display is 16:10) with most graphics options set to "Medium." I played for just a few minutes like this before switching to the display's native 1920x1200. With the default (Medium) settings, the frame rate was nearly always a rock-solid 60 fps when exploring environments, only rarely dipping into the high 50s. In firefights with many enemies and effects onscreen, the frame rate would often dip into the 50s and occasionally into the 40s, but it remained very playable. I bumped the graphics settings up to "Ultra" to see how it fared, and I saw no change in performance. It ran just as well as it had with "Medium" settings. You're not going to do any super high performance 4K gaming with this laptop, but at the native 1920x1200, DOOM ran pretty well, even with everything maxed out.
All-in-all, the HP ZBook Firefly 14 inch G9 is a very capable machine that performs most common tasks quite well. It supports a lot of pretty new standards, like WiFi 6E and USB4—even Thunderbolt 4. If you're in the market for a mid-range professional Windows laptop, it seems like a solid choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The computer is well made with more durable hinges. The cord is especially long and durable. The computer is very easy to set up and operate. A definite improvement with a fast processor, more storage and memory. A very nice computer to fit your needs.
