I have had several Acurite's in the past including 5 in 1 weather stations that have performed extremely well - only changed due to moving and new owners wanted the weather station. I only needed a weather station with indoor and outdoor temp and humidity (no wind or rain readings) needed at new location but got used to having Dewpoint on the other stations. This one has the Dewpoint feature and also plugs in with a battery backup. Have been very satisfied; however, be aware that the display has to be viewed at a certain angle or it is hard to read - not a big issue, just mount it where you would normally read it from.
It is working well. Had to have some help from support as I could not get the wireless signal to come in. A reset worked. It will take a few more days for it to gather all the info on my location, but am enjoying a working weather station!

We apologize that your station is experiencing an issue but we would be happy to assist! Please make sure that you using fresh batteries in both units, then perform the following reset. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit together and remove batteries from the outdoor sensor. Make sure that the Wireless Reception Indicator on the display drops to zero bars to ensure that your display was connected to the correct sensor. (If your wireless reception indicator already indicates zero bars, please proceed to Step #2.) NOTE: If your display unit continues to show a strong connection, there is another sensor in your area that your display is connecting to (either a neighbor's or from another of your AcuRite units). If you have multiple sensors, make sure to use a different ABC channel on each. 2. Remove the batteries and/or power adapter from the display unit. 3. Change the A-B-C switch on both units to a new, matching channel then press and hold the reset button in the battery compartment of the display for 20 seconds, if applicable. 4. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 5. Once the batteries are inserted you should see the red LED light blink approx. every 16 seconds on the front of the sensor. The red LED light should NOT stay on continuously. 6. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit then immediately press and hold the reset button again for 20 seconds, if applicable. 7. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. If this does not correct the issue, we recommend replacing the outdoor sensor. I originally got the all in one weather station. I didn't want to mount it to the fascia at the peak of the roof because the instructions said to keep it away from heat source. So I then tried to mount it off of a deck post but had been unable to find good mounting hardware that didn't look Mickey Moused. That's when I decided to downgrade to this unit. As far as this unit goes it works as described the only issue is I wish it was battery powered with a rechargeable so I would only have to plug in with low power. I would have given a 5 star review otherwise.
Everything seems to be very accurate except for the indoor temperature. I have a very old AcuRite that always has an indoor temperature within 1° of my thermostat. This new one tends to be between 4° and 6° higher than my thermostat and my other indoor thermometer no matter where it is located.
Fairly accurate on outdoor/indoor temps. However, disappointed to see that High/Low daily recordings do not list the time of record. Also disappointed unit erases these recordings at midnight every day.
Sometimes newer, flashier isn't better. I loved my old 'black and grey' model. Firstly, the old one ran on batteries alone, so I could keep it on my table and see it always. This one, requiring a plug-in, has to be behind me and not easy to reference. Also the accuracy seems less. I checked both the outside and inside temps with a mercury thermometer, and outside is usually 3-5 degrees off, the inside 2-4 degrees off. Also checked with Weather Channel, same error. I was told that running on battery alone, I should be able to read the data, but it is too dim in a bright room. Bring back battery only models!
