This was bought to replace an older one that had stopped being accurate and was using batteries like crazy. So far no issues and the display that came with it is very handy instead of having to go to the website.

Purchased this model and it has never measured the first drop of rainfall. Very disappointed !
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It made a loud ticking/whirring sound from the beginning. My previous unit was quiet, so I should have been suspicious. This year it suddenly went silent, but records 86f degrees day and night, which is absurd. It's about 70f during the day. Still, I will probably buy a new one.
