I purchased the AcuRite Iris (5-in-1) Weather Station with High-Definition Display and Lightning detection directly from AccuRite. Great price, good service, and fast service. This display is just what I was looking for, an easy to read and understand display.
Easy to install. Can't stop looking at the wind and direction display. The other information display is also very interesting. The lightning detector finally got activated and has been listening the past 24 hours. It is amazing the amount of lighting strikes and the distance that it sensed. Also the rain gauge is getting a workout the past 24 hours.
This is my second one of these, Hail took out the first one that was over 5 years old. Weather station works perfect, but the lightning detector is really a non-factor. Detects lightning but isn't accurate on distance, nor does it keep an accurate count on strikes. Doesn't detect lightning closer than 5 miles. contacted support with no reply. Surprised?
Product is great. It gives us so much information. Purchased it because previous one was getting worn out after about 6 years of use. Getting used to the new set up but good so far.
I have owned an AccuRite 5 in 1 sensor and color display for 6 or 8 years. I ended up smashing the sensor, and purchased the replacement. It works flawlessly. I now have 2 displays. Great product, great support!

I have now purchased 8 different Acurite pieces of equipment. They work great for a year then don't work at all. I seem to always be a month out of warentee.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
