Works great. Had 1 lightening bolt only. Maybe mention that the screws to mount it are in the battery compartment. We thought they were missing. That's about it.
Right now I would say yes to purchasing this unit again.

So far it has done a fantastic job ... all but the outdoor temp has been a little higher than what I have in other rooms and the unit I had before. Do wish it would rotate the outdoor temp and the indoor settings without so much info?
I have had 3 or 4 of these over the years the first one was great, the second one not so much but was replaced under warranty, and it was working good until a thunderstorm. didn't survive. those were all fo my business. this one is for personal use at home, lets hope it holds up like the first one.i really like this station lots of info and pretty accurate.

I wrote this question to support and the only answer I received back was to "reset to factory defaults". This is the answer to my question when I already said I had done that and the problem continues! "In January the unit was working great for the last 2 years. All of a sudden following considerable rains the Year to Date Rain Total dropped to less than 1". Entering March I took the unit down, cleaned it all out, waxed the two rain cups, reassembled, and the calibrated the rain fall so 1-cup of water equaled 1.06" of rain (checked it twice). Reset the data and re-mounted the unit. Within the next 2 weeks we had close to 4" of rain and unit worked well. Today, April 1st I wake up and the Year to Date display shows less than 1" of rain. This is the 2nd time it happened in a little over 3 months. Why is this happening?"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Typically for this issue we recommend a factory reset on the display then to see if the issue returns. I have provided the troubleshooting steps below. If this does not correct the issue, we would need to further investigate. Please contact the AcuRite Support Team at 262-729-4850. Thank you.
HD display factory reset: Enter display menu by pressing the gear button all the way on the left then arrow down to Factory Reset in the Menu settings. Change the next option to "YES" then the display will tell you to press the "Check mark" twice. Please let us know if this issue continues. Thank you.
Very nicely designed, great features, well built but one MAJOR flaw is no battery backup for the display. Really? When there is severe weather there are power bumps and outages, just when you want to view the weather station. I am shocked the designers left this feature off. Also would have preferred ability to choose what shows in the rotating box. Other than those items, it's very nice.
I love everything about the weather station and the display. I especially like the fact that this display shows the rainfall rate while rain is falling.
