Nectar Premier Copper Mattress (SIDE SLEEPERS DO NOT BUY!)

I bought this mattress because it was rated very highly for side sleepers and touted as one of the best for relieving pressure points for side sleepers (shoulders and hips). I bought this mattress because I started having a little bit of soreness in my shoulders sleeping on my 25 year old worn out mattress so I decided to upgrade to the Nectar mattress. All reviews and claims raved about the Nectar for side sleepers. I have owned it 4 months now and it is definitely not as advertised or reviewed. I no longer sleep on it and am trying to return it. The first month I was fairly happy, but after only 4 months of sleeping on the mattress it is worthless. It no longer offers any pressure relief for my shoulders and is actually causing more pain in my shoulders than my old mattress. Worse it is creating a lot of pressure and soreness on my hips, something I had never experienced with the old mattress. Also, in the 4 months I have been sleeping on it, the memory foam has sunk so much, on the side I sleep on, that it is almost hard to rollover because the other edge is so firm. The issue issue isn't visible when you look at the height of the mattress. It retains the same original height as when I bought it. I think it has a light springy layer so it does not appear compressed. The minute you lay on it though, the mattress depresses and bottoms out and as a side sleeper this is where the pain starts. I am 62 years old and my shoulder soreness had only recently started developing on my old worn out mattress so it was something I wanted to do something about before it got worse. If you have any serious shoulder or hip pain do not buy this mattress. I would have been happy if the mattress could have held its level of support it had in the first month. But this mattress dramatically changed and lost all support for me as a side sleeper within the first 4 months. Interestingly, they tell you to sleep on it for a month before evaluating its comfort. They obviously know that the support it has in the first month breaks down. While this may be great for other types of sleepers, it is detrimental to a side sleeper.

Give it a month and you'll love it

I didn't love it the first couple of weeks- WAY too firm!!! but be patient - give it a month - and you'll love it- softens up the perfect amount after that. I'm sleeping much more deeply now- not quite as much insomnia. I would definitely recommend it.
