[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Likes: The fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish is a standout feature. You can touch it all day, and it won’t smudge. It maintains a sleek appearance without the external ice and water dispenser. Inside the fridge, there are generously sized storage bins in both doors, with enough space to comfortably fit a gallon container, and even tall enough for wine bottles. The three shelves offer ample room, accommodating a 9x13 casserole dish without any overhang. The top right shelf features a hide-away function, allowing you to slide back half of the shelf to store extra-tall items. The water dispenser is conveniently located on the left side of the refrigerator and is high enough to accommodate containers about 15 inches high. You can rest smaller containers on the small shelf that covers the full width drawer, but you’ll need to hold wider containers. At the bottom of the refrigerator section, there are three drawers - two of them are equally sized for fruits and vegetables, and the third is a shallow full-width drawer for your choice of items. Personally, I use it for deli items such as cold cuts, cheese, and snacks. In the freezer, there's a deep drawer with an adjustable center divider, enabling you to create two separate storage areas. I typically use one side for frozen fruits and vegetables and the other for frozen meat. Additionally, there's an upper freezer drawer sitting on top of the main one, equipped with a large ice bucket on the left side and ample storage for items up to about 9 inches tall.
The App: LG has an app called LG ThinQ that allows you to monitor and control your refrigerator's settings. You can configure it to send alerts for various situations, like if the door is left open too long, if the filter needs replacing, or if the temperature goes out of range. What's more, it lets you keep a record of the food items you've placed in the fridge and set alerts for items nearing their expiration date.
Things to improve: During the initial setup, I did notice a chemical/plastic odor and taste in the water. Despite flushing the system with about 10 gallons of water, the issue persisted. Removing the filter improved it somewhat, but not entirely. Eventually, I opted for aftermarket filters, and replacing the factory filter resolved the taste and odor problem. One aspect that leaves me with mixed feelings is the ice bin in the freezer. It's essentially an open container filled with ice, lacking any form of cover, and occupies roughly a quarter of the top shelf. There's a concern that debris could fall into the ice bin, potentially contaminating it.
Final thoughts: This refrigerator offers some great features. The stainless-steel exterior stays clean and sleek, and the inside has lots of room for your food. Plus, you can control it using a handy app on your phone.
However, there are a couple of issues to consider. The water taste and smell may be a concern, but you can fix it with an aftermarket filter. Also, the ice bin in the freezer is open, so there's a risk of things falling in.
So, all in all, it's a good fridge, but you might need to address the water taste and be cautious with the ice bin.

LG Essence White - look and color
on March 28, 2024
Posted by: Smil
My LG Studio Essence White appliances arrived this week. I don't have feedback on performance yet but providing information on look and color. 1 - My cabinets are Sherwin William "Pure White" (satin sheen). In person, the cabinet color is pretty darn close to the LG Studio white appliances. The appliances are a *hair* cooler white, sometimes pulling *very slightly* bluer or more violet than SW Pure White. 2 - The sheen of the appliances are not fully matte but also not super glossy. They fall somewhere in between. 3 - As other reviewers have noted, the handles are NOT gold. They are a muted rose gold. I have copper accents in my kitchen and the LG Studio Essence White handles are a very close match to copper.
Sharing several photos in different lighting conditions.
So far so good. Great ice maker- we love our ice! Tons of room in the fudge are and lots of room in the freezer. it’s just a little bit hard to get organized in this type of freezer, but at the end of the day I feel like all my freezers are a mess, so that’s not a dealbreaker.

Loving the new refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is performing flawlessly. The features are all very nice and the build quality is good. I've read some reviews about the color of the handles and while I understand the frustration, I do like the color of the Rose Gold. I find that allowing colors into any room brightens my day. The ice cubes are square (ish) which is a welcomed changed over the half moons we had with our old refrigerator. The large space in a small box is also very nice and it fits into our slot extremely well. We bought the refrigerator from a retailer and received a very nice offer. I've owned a number of refrigerators in my time including a subZero at a previous home. this is the 2nd best I've had. But it is also many thousands of USD's less expensive. The LG is a great value!

Love, love, love it. It was worth the time it took me to find this model. The interior is well organized and I like it more every time I open the door. Really like the interior water dispenser and the clean front of the unit.
We've had this refrigerator for two weeks and absolutely love it. The new design provides a mountain of extra storage without impacting on external dimensions. The drawers and shelves are very functional and easy to adjust for our use. The refrigerator is quiet. The internal water dispenser is an added bonus that we had not expected.

Great fridge. Stupid handle color.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As far as the function goes, I love the fridge. The layout works well and it seems to have so much more space than our last counter depth. My one complaint is the door handle color. As others have said, they are rose gold which means it's very hard to find cabinet hardware that doesn't completely clash with the handles. I really wish I had just gotten a different fridge to be honest because of the handle color. Hopefully LG will listen to all of our complaints and offer some other color options.
