Not worth the price

Echoing similar reviews, the filter does not last, the fridge glitches with a “replace filter alert” after two weeks of minor usage. It’s a money grab designed to get you to keep buying these expensive filters in order to keep using the fridge water dispenser.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Criminal use of chip technology

The fact that these have a chip in them to prevent you from using any sort of bypass device is criminal. I have a whole house water filter and just want to bypass, I'm telling all my friends and family to avoid these types of fridges at all costs.

Doesn't remove PFAS Toxic Teflon Chemical in drinking water

Thank you for reaching out! The FPPWFU02 filter is designed to reduce a variety of contaminants, including chlorine, lead, and other common impurities in drinking water. However, it is important to note that while this filter provides effective filtration for many substances, it is not specifically certified to remove PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), including toxic chemicals like Teflon, from drinking water.
If you're concerned about PFAS contamination, we recommend looking for a filter that is specifically tested and certified to remove PFAS. There are some reverse osmosis systems or filters with specialized media that are designed for PFAS removal.
