[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this laptop. I’d give it a 4.8 out of 5 stars. Great display. Lightweight. Long lasting battery. Doesn’t get hot. I switched from a MacBook Air and am so happy I did. I highly recommend this computer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Five-star laptop. Three-star tablet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using three successive Surface Pros for many years. So this is mainly a comparison of two premium quality two-in-one PCs. Bottom Line: Surface is better at the tablet end of the spectrum. Yoga 9 is better at the laptop end. And both manufacturers will give you reasonable but not great support.
I recently decided to switch from Surface Pro to a comparable Yoga 9i with a i7 12th generation chip and 16GB of memory. The reason was a combination of cost and support. The Microsoft Surface products were always priced way above Lenovo for the same hardware. For a long time, Microsoft gave excellent consumer support that was worth the difference. But after the pandemic, Microsoft dialed its support way back without lowering prices. Its consumer support is now no better than Lenovo’s "Idea" brand support.
That’s not to say either Lenovo or Microsoft support is bad. But it’s not the Lenovo Think-brand support or the old Microsoft consumer support. If you have a non-standard issue, expect to endure bad call routing systems, lost connections, miscommunication and a wide range of English fluency and technical experience. That’s true of just about any consumer PC you choose. Apple may have better consumer support. I’m not sure.
So I chose to save several hundred dollars and went with the Yoga 9i. In the bargain I got a machine that’s not as light, functional or as ready to use as the Surface Pro for tablet applications like reading and web browsing. But I got a superior laptop for working on a stable flat surface.
So here’s my recommendation: If you want a comfortable laptop at a bargain price with a nice-size display and a real keyboard to work on for longer periods and that is a little clunky but works okay as a tablet, then go with the Yoga. It's just a little heavier, bulkier and less convenient to pull out of a book bag and set up. And it has no front-facing camera.
If your main application is reading the paper at the breakfast table, going over emails on a public conveyance, or frequently taking out and putting away your computer moving from class to meeting, need to take whiteboard shots with a rear-facing camera, but still need a PC with desktop power, then bite the bullet and pay hundreds of dollars more for the Surface Pro. Also, if you're doing a lot of sketching or note-taking, the Surface has a more convenient way to slightly angle the display surface.
Incidentally, if you’re a Lenovo product designer, a rear-facing camera would be a handy addition that wouldn’t weigh much.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop has a perfectly balanced appearance: it has luster, appeal, and a high-end quality to it; however, while it is classy, it is not gaudy, as it rests professionally in the storm grey frame. Without getting into the specs (which are readily available), the display is pleasing, as well as the feel of the keyboard; it feels sturdy to flip, handles the Lenovo pen with grace, and feels amazingly fast as well. This laptop is a solid performer, the best I have owned, and really deserves five stars but for a few minor issues in my opinion: I don’t like the way the touchpad clicks, the mics were not set up for Cortana (that’s what it told me), Windows 11 is buggy, and certain sounds tend to vibrate the frame in unexpected ways. All told, this Lenovo 9i is one of the best laptops money can buy, built by an even better brand, and despite some minor glitches, is sure to deliver and excite.

The Nitpicker Guy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I'm gonna be critical for the first part and then show love for the second.
Touchpad is not centered with the G and H keys which causes issues with the pointer and cursor because my right wrist touches the right side of the touchpad. When you put it in energy saver mode the sound output for the speakers lowers about 30%. The screen has a redish tint to it at times depending on viewing angle (OLED). Keyboard is kind of shallow, no need for those buttons on the right side which shifts the keyboard over to the left. If you shift the keyboard to the left then you shift the touchpad to the left to keep it centered with the G and H key! Now for the love. It looks nice, sounds good and it's fast. The only reason I bought it is because there are major supply chain issues coming soon and I wanted to get something while I could. The end.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent laptop it is very fast and the fans don’t kick on easy and has an exceptional screen if you opt for the OLED model- battery life does suffer a bit if in full light and need to turn it up and Wi-Fi can get spotty at times when on the outer ranges of like a hotel or home Wi-Fi system compared to my old laptop that I could even go across the street from my house with but it is amazing and reasonable for what it offers. If you want the battery life and the great screen stay out of brightly lit rooms and don’t get too far from base camp so to speak but darn they did a great job engineering this it feels solid and the bowers and Wilkins speakers are awesome plus just as good a work horse as a media consumption device. The engineers did a great job here and probably the best value on the market if you don’t go overboard.
