A compact, easy-to-use Bluetooth speaker with fun

Bluetooth connectivity was fast and stable with no dropouts, and pairing took only seconds. Sound quality is clear for its size, with balanced mids and surprisingly strong volume for a portable unit. The color-changing LED lights add a fun visual element without being overpowering, making it great for kids’ parties, karaoke nights, or small gatherings. A REAL DARK HORSE PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spotted the JAM TIME Bluetooth speaker in a Canadian Tire flyer for an amazing price. I was heading over there for another reason and picked one up.
I know the iLIVE brand from a previous purchase and I trust it.
When I had a moment at home I unpackaged it and was impressed by it's size. I read the product specifications and the instructions and gave it a shot.
First of all, it's plug and play. You can actually use the product while it is charging. Nice touch.
I paired it via Bluetooth with my phone which was a snap. Went to my favorite music app and chose a piece that I thought would challenge the speaker.
I didn't adjust the volume on the speaker but used the volume control on the phone. Wow! The sound wasn't too shabby. It also paired easily via Bluetooth with my ASUS laptop. So it serves as a computer speaker as well. That's a big plus. The volume level was impressive and for a device in the price range,it didn't have a high distortion level. It sports two pretty powerful 4 inch speakers that provide full range audio and features a ported design for enhanced bass. You can even pair two of these speakers together with the Party Plus system that is built into it and at the price it isn't going to break the bank to go for that if it would meet your needs. Pretty cool.
Something that I do use is the color changing music reactive light effects. You can choose one of four patterns to suit your taste and the pattern can be changed on the fly with the push of a button and has 16 million colors. The lights are bright and create a nice effect for a small social gathering or private chilling at home. If you choose you can turn those off.
Besides the easy Bluetooth connection, it can be used with a 3.5 auxiliary in plug in and it also has a Micro SD slot and USB music ports,so the choice is yours.
If karaoke is something you enjoy, you'll be happy to know that this speaker has a microphone input and the microphone is part of the package that stores right on the speaker case.
When connected to your phone it can be used as a handsfree speaker. That's always handy.
It uses voice prompts which let you know when it powers on and connects to Bluetooth. It also has on-speaker controls which are push buttons,a built-in carry handle,a charge indicator light that let's you know when is fully charged and it even comes a micro-USB to USB cable.
On my humble opinion this is a very good light weight unit that has it's limitations but everything does and as long as it falls within your listening needs parameters it can't be beat.
