Good Air Conditioner But Watch the Filter Change

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this air conditioner about 3 months ago. The air conditioner cooled the room very well. One problem I encountered was with cleaning the filter. When the filter reset light went on, I pulled the filter out and cleaned it. When I attempted to put it back in, it stopped about 1/3 of the way. I saw another rater mention this problem as well. What I discovered is the sensor that detects time to clean portudes in front of the grill and blocks re-entry of the filter. While the filter is in, of course initially this is not a problem because the sensor is behind the filter. When you take the filter out the sensor pops forward and the filter will not go back in all the way to its original position. I took the front off of the air conditioner, threaded the filter back in and replaced the cover. For the second air conditioner (I bought 2), I pushed the filter back through, got a tool to pull the end forward as it was sliding in and guided in in front of the sensor. Frigidaire, this is a poor design for the side entry filter screen. Maybe recess the grill at the spot where the sensor is sitting and the filter replacement problems will not occur or place the sensor so it will not the filter re-entry. I rated the item down due to this flaw and considered that some people do not seem to have reported this problem, though they may not have changed the filter as of yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great AC!

Also, the energy saver mode is also a money saver! Our bill went down significantly when we switched from a stand-up unit.
