Very annoying high-pitched whistling noise.

I bought this for my bedroom but there's no way I could sleep through the high-pitched whistling noise the compressor makes. So I moved it to another room but noise is still annoying. Perhaps this is the price for energy efficiency but I'd rather have a slightly less efficient AC that is not so annoying. I would like to return it but it would be too hard to rebox, especially the way it came, the box would not hold together without the professional strapping around it.

Thanks for sharing your A/C experience, Johnny Row. Some of the sounds you’ve been hearing are part of your appliance’s normal function. High efficiency compressors, such as yours, may have a high pitched chatter during the cooling cycle. I hope this helps! Courtney

5000 btu AC Unit

I got it about a month ago. Was very easy to install in the window at my house. My only complaint is the thermostat is off by 4 degrees and there are days it turns on and off continuously on energy saver mode so to solve this problem I just turn it on "cool" for the night and back to energy saver mode when I'm no longer in that room anymore.

Installation of the side curtains was confusing, the temperature thermostat is not very accurate, but when you get it running and adjust the temperature to your comfortable feeling it works as desired. I'm overall pleased with the unit.

Love My Mini-Compact

This little unit cools the living room and dining room of my apartment and even makes my bedroom more comfortable. A lot of work from a wonderful little unit.
Somewhat time-consuming to install in this old building but definitely worth the work.

Very Cool!

Saw some reviews of some starter price ac units and was worried to purchase them. The complaints were basically not cooling off even small bedrooms. Spend a little more on this one and you won't be disappointed. Plenty cool enough in my 120 sf room with 10 foot ceilings. Even cools the outside hallway.Very easy to install and digital with remote.
