I also bought one for my husband he had stage 4 lung cancer. It helps him to relax. Also a friends wife had hot flashes like myself recommended the Embr wave to him to get for her. Helps me with hot flashes at night

Did not help me with moderate to severe hot flashes/night sweats

I have severe hot flashes. I wore the Embr Wave 2 for 2 weeks at night on the coolest setting for all night cool -- i sweat regardless, and got a horrible rash under my arm where sweat broke down skin between the device and my wrist.
This may work for those with mild to moderate hot flashes but I did not get the benefit I had hoped to get from it.

Money well spent

I have had my Embrwave 2 for about 2 weeks now and feel such relief. Pressing on the cool button when I’m having a hot flash has brought me so much relief as it stops me from profusely sweating and also the panicked feeling when a hot flash is happening. I’m sleeping so much better because I can quickly press my cool button when I’m woken up and I fall back asleep instantly. Well worth the money.

Product Works Well, Could Use Minor Improvements

I would give the product itself a 4.5/5 stars. It works fairly well compared to how I've heard it advertised. I mainly use the cooling effect, which does provide some relief, but it's more of a "takes the edge off" thing than providing a total body cooldown. I occasionally use the warming feature, and I feel that the warming feature works better/more quickly than the cooling feature. Unfortunately, I air on the "always too hot" side of things, but I think this product would work really well for anyone who's on the colder side. I have the Wave 2, and it's a little bulky. If it's possible to make it a little slimmer, that would be ideal since it's recommended to wear on the underside of the wrist and tends to get in the way when I'm working.
The reason I gave 3/5 instead of 4/5 is that changing out the band was an absolute nightmare. It took me an hour to do what should have taken a few minutes. The bands are held with watch pins, and the band kit comes with a couple of extra pins and a spring bar tool. Getting the band off was easy enough, but getting the new one on was a frustrating experience which included watch pins shooting across the room and a lot of cursing. I lost all 4 pins (the 2 original and 2 extras) at some point and managed to recover 2 of them. I would have just dealt with the original band if I knew it was going to be such a pain to switch it out.
The company should keep in mind that there are consumers (myself included) using this product to help manage chronic illnesses and may lack the dexterity needed to switch the bands out. If there was an easier system or the option to choose a particular band at the time of purchase, I would definitely rate at least 4 stars overall.

I was a little skeptical at first about this working. But after a month or so using it I find that it does help with the hot flashes I am having due to the medication I am taking. While the Embr Wave does not eliminate the hot flashes it does seem to help in lessening the severity of the flashes. The Wave also helps me through the night with sleeping.

This product delivers far from what it advertises--and not in a good way. It automatically shuts off every 5 to 10 minutes (with a full charge), and does little to nothing for hot flash relief.
I am returning the product today, as it is very disappointing.

Shari, we're sorry you had a bad experience with your Wave! If you don't make any changes with the app, the default cooling and warming sessions last for 10 minutes (meaning the device will automatically turn off after the 10-minute session ends). The app lets you choose different durations, from 3 minutes to 9 hours.

I'm a 75-year-old guy being treated for prostate cancer. One side effect of the drugs is that I get hot flashes, which are quite annoying. The Embr Wave 2, if I trigger it early enough, reduces (sometimes eliminates) the intensity and duration of the flash. This device has made a significant difference for me - I recommend it to any guy who gets hot flashes because of his treatment for prostate cancer.
