I have hypersensitive skin and chronic pain, where the application of heat alleviates some of the pain. Hot flashes due to menopause started, and cooling was now definitely required. The Embr Wave was not able to maintain or sufficiently provide the effect of heating or cooling, becoming too heavy and painful to wear, and so I got the Wave 2. While not as heavy as the first version, and much sleeker to look at, the Wave 2 is still has a large footprint and within a week of use, became extremely uncomfortable, to the point of painful, to wear. Since the Wave 2 was worn through summer, only the cooling feature was used. The extended battery life in the Wave 2 is a valuable feature, as are some of the preset program options. Unfortunately, the cooling didn’t appear to have any effect on hot flashes, and the discomfort due to the size and pressure on my skin increased my insomnia. I think a disclaimer for certain conditions would help people make a more informed decision on investing the money for themselves. At the moment, Embr touts to all persons and this is definitely not the instance. Embr is a wonderful customer service company and the return of the Wave 2 was problem free.

Disappointed!

Doesn't really cool me off when I'm having a hot flash. I still have to turn the fan on. If also Doesn't warm me up either. I was kinda disappointed. I was expecting more that what it gave.

Some people do find that it takes a couple of weeks for their bodies to adjust before they really start to feel the full effectiveness of the Wave—and that it works better the more they use it! Good Relief from Hot Flashes

My hot flashes are out of control, mostly at night, and wake me up several times throughout the night, disrupting my sleep. The Embr Wave works pretty fast to stem or stop my hot flashes, but only if I can get the Embr Wave activated quickly when I first feel the flash coming on. If I miss it then the hot flash comes on but the Embr Wave seems to reduce the time of the hot flash. I use it at night with a small battery operated fan and between the two I get relief a lot quicker. I also wear the Embr Wave when I ago out during the day and use it when the occasional hot flash starts up.
