Poor quality water filter

These water filters are poor quality. I've purchased these a few times and they normally last about a month and they should last 6 months. The first filter I installed in May 2023 and got me to mid June 2023. I replaced with the second one and it got me to August. My fridge also shows 80% life left. These are super expensive and should have good water flow even after a couple of months. Our household did not use 200 gallons in a month and a half.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Barely works after a month

I've used 4 of these filters in less than a year, and they work great for about a week and then they slow and slow and then are maddeningly slow once a month goes by. There's no way these last for more than 2 months max and then I have to replace them. Super disappointing, cannot recommend this, and I'm researching other pitcher filter products to use instead of these. Way too expensive for terrible performance.

Flushing after installation very inconvenient

after installing but before using this filter for human consumption KitchenAid states that you should flush through 4 gallons of water. The water from the filter during this flush is milky. I don't know what causes the milkiness, and neither does customer support, but it forms a slight slime. Not only is this very inconvenient, but my personal experience over several years is that a 4 gallon flush is the minimum. Sometimes I have to flush 8 gallons+ to rid the water of the milkiness. And you have to pause between flushing times.

Disappointed!

I just got off the phone with customer service re: my new Kitchenaid Stainless steal French door fridge and issues with the filter. I have only had my fridge for 4 months and have already replace the original filter and now after just a month my water trickles out of the dispenser. I called and spoke to customer services and that really was no help so I thought I'd check out figures online on their website. As I am reading the reviews re: this filter I am disheartened that this seems to be an issue that is common to this filter/fridge.

Slowed water flow

My water flow slowed significantly after installing the filter. Have tried 2 different filters and the result was the same.

Works Great!

We’re on our 3rd filter and each one has worked great! The water flow only seems to slow slightly when the filter is getting full and it’s near the time to change. Once we change the filter, the flow is strong again. We’re totally happy with this filter.
