I want to love this lid and some days I do but other days I have an extreme dislike for it. On the days I dislike it, it's because an air bubble forms over the opening and to break it means to have HOT liquid slam into your lips and mouth, so off the lid goes. I've tried various things to avoid this happening but I cannot get it to work consistently. When it does work, it's fantastic.

I'm surprised that this lid tends to slide up and become loose while drinking, as it's not a knockoff, it's the exact lid made BY EMBER for my cup. It will fit down into the rim of the mug firmly, but then as i drink i notice it starts to slide ever so slowly up to where it's no longer snug. I've only had it for about two weeks and I've hand washed it, no dishwasher. It shoudln't be warped or anything like that.

Greatest change to an already super product. The battery last longer than it used to, I don't spill coffee moving from the sink to outside where I normally drink my morning coffee, and coffee doesn't run down the side of the cup (drops). Great idea with great design. Love it.

False Advertising...Will Not Fit Ember Mug

The footnote in the advertising for the Sliding Lid states, "*For use with the Ember Mug or Ember Mug² only." We have two of the original 10oz Ember Mugs (not the Mug²) and the lids are too small. Have started the return process to get refunds. This is false advertising.

The best thing about this product is it’s ability to stop spills when you’re walking around with your cup. The lid, in fact, does keep the coffee warmer longer when it is on and closed.
Sadly, it is not as easy to drink from as other similar products I have used with liquid containers. It seems like the opening is too deep to the rim to be optimally effective in closing all the gaps to prevent coffee from escaping at the corners where the lips do not make a firm contact with the surface of the lid.
