This is an amazing piece of equipment. I have one question: when powering off the unit, what is better - standby or power off? Thanks in advance.

Hello Stefan! Thank you for the kind words and 5 star review! We’re thrilled to hear you're enjoying the CD player! As for your question: powering off the unit completely is generally the best option if you won’t be using it for a while, as it conserves energy and prolongs the life of the internal components. Standby mode is handy for quick access if you’re planning to use it again soon, it automatically turns on when connecting with Bluetooth device and provides a smoother experience between listening sessions. Hope that helps and thanks again for the fantastic feedback!

SACD question
on May 20, 2025

Is there a way to play SACD’s through the optical output? Cause it does not make sense to have such a high-res digital format and be able to play it only through analog output.
Response from technics.comBy Team Panasonic - F, Team Panasonic, May 21, 2025
Hello Stefan! Thank you for your 5 star rating! SACDs utilize a high-resolution Direct Stream Digital (DSD) format, which cannot be transmitted over standard optical or coaxial outputs, these are limited to standard PCM audio. To experience full SACD audio quality, please use the analog outputs or balanced XLR connections, which deliver the internally processed signal from the DAC. We hope this information will be of help!
