We received the order quickly. Machines worked great. You can absolutely feel the difference in the rooms that they are running in. Highly recommended!
So far so good. I purchased the 45i for my mom who suffers from really bad allergies, she said she was able to notice a difference in the air quality within hours. To top it off the unit is whisper quiet Thank you Alen!
We received our 45i a couple of weeks ago and so far, we’re very pleased. The unit is easy to use and seems very responsive to changes in air quality when placed in “auto mode.” My husband has already reported an improvement in his breathing. We’re also impressed with its ability to quickly clear away odors. We have 6 cats in our house so odor control was a very important consideration when we purchased this unit — we have not been disappointed!
Have a 75i for downstairs. Doesn’t quite seem up to the square footage advertised. The 45i seem up to it though. A bit louder than the 75i though at Max Blast. Overall still a nice purifier. Customer service at Alen is top notch and can’t beat the warranty.
I live in NYC and purchased this purifier for my apartment to clean the air, and to rid the smell of my neighbors cooking :)
It has done both, and i've noticed i sleep better and I have a much easier time breathing. I searched every single brand out there, and am super happy with my choice. BUY IT, DON'T THINK TWICE!
It took me over a week to research the best air purifier for our living room and bedroom and was debating between Molekule, Dyson, Honeywell and Alen Air. Through so much YouTube, Amazon, Articles and friend recommendation, we decided to buy two Alen BreatheSmart Air Purifiers. The best decision we made because it's quiet, sleek, and absolutely works like a charm. My allergies cleared up in our home and I don't wake up with a scratchy throat and watery eyes. LOVE IT!
I've owned just about every air purifier made, including top line models. The one's that worked well sounded like a jet engine at the top speeds, making them ineffective to use during times of peak allergy.
What I've learned from all these purchases is that if you have someone in the home with very sensitive allergies, one purifier is not enough.
I currently have the 75i in my living room / dining area and 3 of the 45i's in the smaller rooms.
All of them even when running at top speeds (which is rare) are extremely quiet in Turbo modes and barely audible at the lower speeds. So this is a huge plus for the Alen purifiers. They clean the air without causing a lot of noise. I think this is mostly due to large intake openings and extra large exhaust ports.
My wife is extremely allergic. For example, I can spray lens cleaner on my eyeglasses a couple of rooms away and pretty soon she is coughing and wheezing (she has asthma as well). Pollen from Oak trees during part of the year are especially bad for both her Asthma and Allergies, they literally knock her out of commission and as that season worsens so does her condition.
I purchased the Alen purifiers in the middle of that season this year, along with the recommended filters for people with Asthma. She was at the point where she would normally go to a clinic and they would give her an anti-inflammatory for relief of symptoms.
As soon as I installed the four units the symptoms dissappeared within a few days and she has not had to take allergy pills since. The results have been night and day.
Additionally food odors from cooking tend to trigger her as well, not as much as the Oak pollen. The 75i and 45i units instantly detect it and kick into action. Usually in about 20 minutes there is no noticeable cooking odor in the home.
The pollen issue is still going on outside but we can't tell it when inside the house. I opened the house up to air out yesterday and within minutes most of the purifiers where already in the green and red light modes from the particles that got in the house. These things are very responsive in automatic mode.
I highly recommend these units. The improvement in health is well worth the cost. Even though I wouldn't mind if the purifiers were a little cheaper. I'm ok with the replacement filter prices.
There is only one change I'd like to see in future versions of these units. I'd like to see an additional button that would work in tandem with the Auto function. Might be called "Extreme Allergy" or something to that extent.
Currently in Auto mode for someone with very bad allergies like my wife, I think the threshold for the purifier to kick in to a higher speed with pollen in the air is too high. In other words, she starts sneezing or whatever before the purifier kicks into a higher speed. This usually leads to me having to put them into a higher speed manually rather than the Auto feature doing it for me. The Extreme allergy button would lower the threshold for the Auto feature to kick in so that it would start taking preventive action sooner for extremely allergic types.
If that option would not be possible then maybe a button that would do a "cleansing" 2 or 3 times a day by kicking into a higher speed to avoid accumulation of contaminants while in the Auto mode.
I don't want the above to sound like this is a major problem with the unit. They run on low speed most of the day with excellent results. It is only occasionally that I end up having to intervene manually. Maybe a couple of times a day.
Packaging was excellent for the units, out of the 4 none had delivery damage. Setup was a breeze.
Extremely happy to have made this purchase and highly recommend them.
