My house must have had lots of pollutants inside because the breatheSmart air quality light
didn't turn to green for several hours after I started it. Now I only notice that it is orange when I burn something in the kitchen, so it is doing a good job of keeping the air clean. That's a big improvement. Thank You.

Purchased the air purifier due to a paint smell. So far so good, I've had the u it for about a month now. Like the controls, easy to operate. I leave it on the auto mode all day. Also very quiet. Very satisfied with the purchase.

A quality product that works as advertised

I was looking for an air purifier to create a clean room where my wife and I and 3 cats could shelter in case of a nearby wildfire. Our locale in SWFL has seen only sporadic, and distant fires (wild or not) but we have been getting warnings from official sources to expect fires this season. Research, helped by Consumer Reports, led me to the Alen line of air purifiers and the 45i. It has a filter for heavy smoke and cleans 800 sq.ft in 30 minutes. More than adequate for my needs and it expanded the size of our planned clean room.
I followed the instructions and set the fan to Turbo on first operation. I took less than two hours to clean the bedroom and adjoining bathroom and walk-in-closet. With the light at blue, I set the fan to Auto and never changed that setting again. On Turbo, it was noisy but not to distraction. It usually runs on the two lowest speeds with the color usually blue or green and the occasional orange, but you rarely notice the sound it makes.
With the 45i in the bedroom, sleep has been a little better for us, though it does seem to reduce the humidity level by two to three percentage points. Me, my wife and two cats, do have problems with allergies; in SWFL something is flowering year-round. Our allergies seem to be marginally better and so we plan on purchasing the 75i for the great room.
I like that its filter is a simple, two-stage unit, with the top layer removeable for capturing large debris. You can replace the filter unit with your eyes closed.
We bought a T500 and set it near the litter boxes in the laundry room. What a difference it made! It completely cleans the air of any odors.
We are happy with our silent friends as they tirelessly clean the air of the allergens and odors. I just wish we had done this years ago. These Alen products are pricey, but they work as advertised. They are an investment in our health and safety and I am happy to have wisely spent the money.
