I think the decision to

I think the decision to buy this air purifier was a good one. It makes a noticeable difference to how the air feels and smells. I was disappointed, however, when I ordered a different cover for the machine than it came with, there is a good selection of different covers you can choose from. I picked one out that would match the decor in the room. But they sent a cover that does not fit with my machine, so I need to return it for the right size. I will submit another review to comment on the service to customers, but if the product warranty is so good, I believe customer service will be pretty good, too. Just a mistake, it happens.
I really have put my new Alen BreatheSmart 45i purifier to task here in the smokey Bay Area, CA and I am feeling so smug that I had the foresight to order one. The local fires have made a month of "Spare the Air" warnings and high hazard particle counts. The continuing fires up and down the west coast have kept my purifier on 24/7. It is amazing, when I walk into the room with the purifier, I can literally taste the clean air, which is verified by the light sensor on this cool looking machine. I started off this terrible fire season with puffy eyes and scratchy throat, all of that irritation before the fires even got really bad. But even with escalation in smoky days, I have had clear breathing and no eye irritation since the arrival of the Alen Breathe Smart 45i. The customer service is excellent- informed, helpful and pleasant.
Very happy with our Alen BreatheSmart. Very easy to set up and use. We’re using the odor filter and find it to work very well. We already ordered our second unit based on our experience. Since a paper manual does not come with the purifier, I would recommend, if purchased, to go to the Alen website and print the owner’s manual as it has useful information.
Based on some empirical data, the sensor is very good. The sensitivity seems better than your average air purifier and is appropriate for this premium product. It is relatively quiet and looks very stylish. There is also a Feature that turns off all lights so there isn’t any light that emits from the unit if you are sensitive to light in the night like me.
The one downside is that the predicted seems velcroed to the filter so it may make a mess when you try to get rid of the first layer of dust. In addition, the filter is very thick (I got the one with carbon and silver in it) and it seems to stick out above the plane of the hole it was designed for. Almost like it was too thick for the unit. So it kind of sticks out of its square hole but it seems to still do the trick. Just seems like an odd design choice.
Otherwise I’d recommend. Was deciding between this and rabbit air and after some research, I settled on this and am happy with my choice so far.
Surprisingly quiet and doesn’t take a lot of space. I needed it for an art gallery and this had the best price for 800 square feet of coverage and with good reviews. Have only had it a couple of weeks but so far so good!
