Useless for Newborns

I am extremely disappointed and honestly baffled by Nanit’s lack of proper support for the youngest babies — the very ones who need breathing monitoring the most. Nanit does not sell a 0–3 month swaddle that works with their breathing monitoring feature. Their “Breathing Wear” only starts at 3 months and up.

Sure, they offer the breath bands — but those cannot be safely used with a traditional newborn swaddle (loose fabric + separate band = major safety risk). So what exactly are parents of actual newborns supposed to do? Just… not monitor their breathing until the baby is older?
This leaves parents with a very expensive camera that does not deliver on its core promise when you bring a baby home. Unsafe, unreasonable, and honestly false advertising. If they expect parents to invest in breath monitoring, they should provide safe and appropriate tools from day one — not months later.
To make things worse, the quality control is awful. I bought four breathing bands in the exact same 0–3 month size, and every single one is a different length. Some barely wrap around, others hang loose — completely inconsistent and unreliable. For a product marketed around safety, that is outrageous.
As a new parent, this product has caused stress instead of peace of mind. Until Nanit fixes this huge gap, I cannot recommend it to anyone with a newborn.

This kaput second round using the Nanit monitor. It gives us peace of mind while our newborn is in his bassinet and we are in the living room. . we only wish the subscription was a little more affordable and that there was a plan for split screen families.

Awesome Baby Monitor

Best baby monitor! I love watching my son’s growth and milestones, and the compilation videos showing our “pickups” are so cute. The built-in sound machine is also a great feature, very soothing. It was a huge peace of mind to have the breathing monitor included when we first transitioned from bassinet to crib. Looking forward to using it with baby #2 soon.

Great functionality in the home

I love the Nanit on a day-to-day basis in our home. It's easy to use, good video quality, and we rarely have outages. The lack of an external (ie non-app phone screen) screen for the Nanit is a challenge though - it's a pain having to have babysitters setup an account in order to use, or troubleshooting wiif when we travel. We have an iPad we just keep in the kitchen for babysitting scenarios, but travel is still tough. I'm having twins though and bought an additional Nanit, so still would highly recommend the product.

Reliable and at ease

This is our second Nanit camera, and it continues to give us such peace of mind. We love being able to see our baby in real time while he naps, and the sleep-tracking feature really helps us understand his patterns. It’s been such a reassuring tool for our family.

Good camera to help with postpartum anxiety! Good picture! The sound good in and out and sometimes the picture freezes but that’s due to our internet connection from being on the farm. Overall worth the money with the memories package
