Heart Rate is too small to read in real time

I recently purchased the Instinct 3 Crossover watch. It does have a lot of useful features which are accessible via the Garmin CONNECT app. on my iPhone. One thing I have not found satisfactory is the almost microscopic heart rate display. I looked for a different watch face which had the HR display larger and found none. I need to be able to monitor HR in near real time during my hike activities as doc wants me to limit the HR. I can't read it without using reading glasses or pulling out my iPhone and checking it. Sort of disappointing. Battery life display is useful as well so if I could find a watch face with larger display of HR and battery status (smaller font is fine there) it would be great.
Great watch. Pretty much indestructible.(pretty much). I’ve had mine for like 2 and a half years. There was a problem with the watch letting in water. But I had put it through war at the point with Surfing, skating, lacrosse, free diving, high elevation. It’s broke my fall a few times to say the least. When I messaged garmin after 2 years they said “that’s alright send it in and we’ll replace it.” I was so stoked. Anyway, it has everything you need as a running/ active wear watch. It doesn’t have the sleep coach which is the only real bummer. But if you are looking for a durable watch for rootin around in the mud and taking a few spills this is the watch for you. Have a good day thank you for reading!
User interface is confusing and sometimes right out bad. E.g. when needing GPS, the watch shows a blank screen, without any information and is totally unresponsive.
Uploading apps sometimes just enqueues them, but uploading doesn't actually start. Synchronization of data with the app is a similarly bad experience. Sometimes is works, sometimes it doesn't. Right now, the watch is unable to sync heartrate and sleep data.
I had a very good experience with the Instinct Crossover watch. However, after two years, it started to have some problems—the hands no longer matched the current digital time.
Even after two years, I didn’t expect such great service from Garmin, but I was impressed. Excellent company. They sent me a perfect refurbished version of my watch.
I have numerous “knock around “ watches, both Garmin and Apple. The Garmin watches are the better choice. Better information and more durable. This watch has a nice display, is a great size and you never need to worry about the battery life. The charge is second to none. I’m sure that I’ll buy another Garmin in the future. I have numerous of their products and all are good. In most cases worth the premium prices for the stuff I’ve purchased.
I have always been attracted to watches with an analog movement. The Garmin crossover has what looks like an analog movement, but it is controlled by digital circuitry. The other features of the watch match the features of the basic Garmin instinct which for health and fitness tracking is so good I have dumped my other more expensive watch that does a mediocre job of tracking health and fitness and will typically not last for 24 hours on a full charge. The sleep tracking and VO2 Max reporting is excellent and I really like the morning report after a night of sleeping that includes the body battery function. Overall an excellent watch.
