[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I selected a bulkier device because it looked like it has good ventilation and it would help with cooling. I live in Florida and would use it for 8-12 hour days so I knew that heat would be a factor.
I haven't found it to be good at cooling at all and haven't seen the "intelligent cooling feature" I had read about. It runs very hot in general and the loud fan turns on everytime I try to record a video.
I've had several driver/OS issues shortly after I took it out of the box (example, it didn't recognize internal speaker!) that required wasting time with support within the first week of receiving it and I ended up resetting it to factory default which was frustrating.
The backlit keyboard is better than nothing but the lights aren't truly helpful if working in the dark, so they've been proven to be a waste of battery.
The battery life isn't the greatest but I knew that going in, just keep that in mind if that is important to you.
It does have a good amount of ports and it works well with my docking station. I appreciate the trackball and buttons when I am not using the docking station.
The case looks good but the finish attracts fingerprints/smudges and it looked worn within a day unless I carefully wipe it regularly.
Overall, it's a powerful device that has been able to keep up with my resource intensive multi tasking but all of the little things prevent me from giving it 5 stars.

Solid construction. decent to really good performance in certain areas. Probably the slowest PC's we've ever owned to start up. often they take about 3 minutes to start. Also, when they go to sleep you loose all your work if you have not saved. Automatically closes apps when they roll into sleep mode. Audio will be shut off as well. So far we only have found that we have to restart the system to get back to operational. Also, having graphics issues with lines appearing on the screens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for desktop replacement, the P16 looked like a great solution. I was correct. Lots of options, ports, 4 memory slots, two SSD slots (no matter what configuration). Great screen options as well (although I am usually using external monitors). At nearly seven pounds it is not a lightweight, but I knew that going in. I have had the X1 Carbon, X1 Nano and X1 tablet. Each of those is great for what it is, but none of them can handle the heavy load like the P16 can!
