MagSafe good but…

I bought this a few months ago and just tried it recently. I too found that the hinge is floppy. When you touch the phone to make adjustments the whole thing wobbles. I’m not worried about it dropping my phone, I just can’t use it to make fine adjustments without holding it as it bounces way too much. When you adjust the angle, you have to keep playing with it to get it right as there’s a lot of play in the hinge. I would get a replacement, but I’m not sure if I can get one because of how long I’ve had it before I used it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the MagSafe for Mac Desktops and Displays to make it easy to use my iPhone as my camera. It does exactly what I wanted it to do! Easily mounted onto my display monitors and adjusted up and down to capture the area I wanted seen on camera. The only downside is this thing is really big and heavy. While I know it needs to be sturdy enough to hold the phone, it is a bit like a brick. It suits my needs though I hope the engineering can figure out how to make it a bit less bulky and heavy in the future

The product and general idea is great. there is only one short coming. If the actual magnetic part could be rotated 180/360 degree the product would become so much more practical. In its current configuration is pretty much only supports the continuity function.

I wanted to really like mount

iPhone mount with MagSafe for Mac laptop is not as reliable as you think. The magnet is strong enough to use with the iPhone 16 pro without the case. The first one I purchased broke within 4 months, after using strictly from desktop to laptop. It didn’t get moved past the desk and laptop. And didn’t move from the desk yet it broke at the hindge. I don’t trust that it wont happen again.

I thought for sure when I ordered this there would be a way to rotate/swivel the phone so my screen was facing me from atop my laptop lid. I don't need my cameras facing me, I have a web cam for that. I need it for reading scripts next to my web cam. It seems sturdy and perfect for someone who needs more cameras on them.

Great mounted on monitor, not great on tripod

Originally wanted this for a tripod mount so I can use MagSafe instead of the normal phone mounts for tripods. I quickly found out that the articulating arms of the mount are rather floppy. The tripod screw mount is set back further than what I would like as well, definitely owing to the weakness of the hinge. Other than that the product works well for its primary function. Not necessarily for Apple brand monitors either.
