The key is to make sure that you have all the documentation that you had to chase down the year before. As the year progresses, document what you know you will need when it's time to file.

Pennsylvania State Balance Sheet Small Business

There is a major malfunction in this software. It imported crazy numbers into the balance sheets. It took us hours of fiddling around to figure how to override the auto entries, make correct entries, and get the sheets to balance. Very disappointed. (We had similar issues last year as well.)

It has been reliable for me over the years. Usually there are no issues. I recommend it since I know more about my taxes than relying on someone else.

Turbo Tax is great . . . .but

Data transfer is fairly seamless. But due to rounding errors, I spend hours tryihg to get my balance sheet to balance. It's only off by a dollar or two, but there should be an easy way to say "Hey there's a rounding error" and make a simple entry to explain the rounding error - THERE'S NOT. Otherwise I'm happy.

Very poor for estate tax

It took me 2 additional hours to figure out the duplicate entries and errors made on the form by this program. Very confusing the way it treats tax exempt dividends/interest and lumps one into the other's category. The final result was quite different than that of my CPA. This should have taken me 30 mintues, it took 2.5 hours.
