Works But Very Confusing

Many of the questions are ambiguous and require research to answer. Others are confusing. The information about Allocation of Capital Gains says it's to allocated short term gains, yet when you click on it, it's long term gains. This is but one example. No NC return- ridiculous!

State program not very helpful

The New York State return review kept coming up indecipherable required changes. Turbotax needs to spend more time on state returns. I paid $80 for the state return but service was inadequate

Better this year - still a few bugs

The following bugs encountered this year - all were resolvable:
1) Quickbooks transfer picked up a stray code 179 depreciation amount from 10 years ago.
2) Balance sheet did not properly fill out past depreciation amounts for assets, so balance sheet was out-of-whack - had to manually fix.
3) VA 502A was included automatically and caused unresolvable errors - confusing until I realized had to physically delete this form.

Turbo Tax really works for my small business

Turbo Tax for Business has been used by me and my company for several years. It is a great program and easy to use, but it helps greatly to have a working knowledge of tax law.

The whole program is frustrating. I've used it for a few years now, since I always use Turbo Tax for my individual taxes. There's a marked differenve between the two experiences though. Whereas the software for individual taxes walks you through everything step by step, the business software leaves you hanging, often just referring you to the form. It's especially bad for state returns. I had to muddle through it since I prepaid for e-filing, but I'm going to try a different provider next year.
