TT needs to automate the 1041 more for trusts, estates, etc. Too many forms to outsource especially state tax forms. Need more simplicity.

Massachusetts fiduciary income form not clear

The Massachusetts fiduciary income form had difficulty when there was no income only cap loss. Also when it came to print It somehow developed two copies of the federal fiduciary form in the print preview with no obvious way to delete the duplicate. Finally it would not allow me to do an e file because of "invalid" ss #. It made no sense. Had to file by amil.

I rely on TurboTax business year after year because it is user friendly. I like the way it remind you of items you should double check. I feel it is the best resource for doing your own small business taxes and filing

Does almost everything well

I used the Business Version for a limited partnership. It does most things well. Howeveri, it does not handle section 754 depreciation for stepped up basis at all. I had to spend quite a bit of time figuring it out on my own, then had to use the "override" feautre to manually add items to the return. I had no choice since I was so invested in the product. Not the best, but at least there is a workaround.

Billing and downloading the desktop version

I had a very difficult time downloading the desktop version and now it's seems impossible to download the state tax return. Turbo Tax could do better.

Problems w/e-filing Amended 104 and AL Returns

An amended 1041 cannot be filed electronically even though the IRS allows it to be and other tax programs will. Also the Alabama tax return is not supported by Turbo Tax Business. TT was suggested since it prepares the K-1's but the positives may be outweigh the negatives. I will be looking for another tax program that is better suited to the Trust I maintain.

Generally it works as it should find a solution. But when I find a problem there is little to no support to find a solution. TT should at least give an error message instead of starting over.
