I would have given it 5 stars but I wasn't able to copy over my quickbooks to turbo tax without QB being installed locally.

First time I've used Turbo Tax Business and first time I filed a fiduciary return. Have used Turbo Tax Home and Business for years and love it. Have always felt Turbo Tax asks the right questions to guide the preparer. Great product.

Thorough but clumsy

I have been using TurboTax for decades, and it astounds me that the interface is still so clumsy. It finds errors, but cannot help you locate the information needed to resolve it? It will let you see the IRS forms, and even edit fields, but it cannot take you from a field back into the step by step that edited that field? Interfaces have come a long way since the early 2000's and this one desperately needs an update.

Not always clear and auto correct not always right

I have an LLC where one member gets 100 of profit and the other gets 0. Turbo Tax would not let me file and kept putting in a 99999999999 in the fields that should have been zero. I overrode those fields and entered the correct number...zero. It would not electronically transmit with the override. Could not figure out how to do it so am printing and mailing this return in. Very frustrating

25 years of excellent support

I have been using this product (both individual and business) for so long it is hard to remember what taxes where like before this. It has always handled what I needed and helped answer my questions (and teach me) along the way. For this first time this year I needed a human to help with a problem; they were there and got me thru it.

first time using TT Business

New corporation/business. I had mostly a good experience in going through step by step. Seemed to cover everything as one would hope. However, a few tips for what could be fixed--
(1) in asking if the business began when the corporation was formed, the answer was no. When I provided the operations start date (which was hard to figure out and required tax research), TTB then used the operations start date as the beginning of the short tax year! Which then carried over to state return too. That was wrong for both feds and state, but thankfully I figured out how to override.
(2) I still can't figure out how TTB calculated the state franchise tax amount. I gave up and went with TTB figure since not that huge of a dollar discrepancy.
(3) The state tax return didn't have anywhere close to as many helps in figuring out what the form was asking for. Had to go through voluminous state manual.

Review of TTax

Each year a little better. The fact that I can more easily, than prior years, get to someone who knows something about operating TTAX and most of the various fields and how they interact is important. I am a CPA and at times TTAX can be challenging for me. You should understand that being semi fluent in the way of tax prep is a definite advantage!!! If your representatives have multiple years of experience in managing the flow and seeing multiple "disconnects" that only makes them better and thus the preparer doesn't have to wait long and be satisfied and confident that an appropriate answer or WORKAROUND is provided. There are plenty of "pink" boxes that appear and not all of them are easily discernible.
