Turbotax business better this year than prior

TurboTax needs to to handle Living Trusts better

When I went to create the Tax Return for my mom's Revocable Living Trust it asked for the creation date. I wasn't sure if it wanted the date the Revocable Living Trust was created or the day she passed and it became a Irrevocable Trust. I did a help search in TurboTax for the creation date and it said the date is specified at the front of the Trust Document. This is clearly wrong. TurboTax needs to ask if this is a Tax Return for Living Trust for someone that has now passed and ask the questions differently like instead of Creation Date it should be the Date of Death of the original Trustee. Also it could know that most likely this is not a Simple Trust, but instead a Complex Trust where Distributions of the principle is allowed. I know there are lots of different type of trusts but most likely those Trusts are setup by a lawyer and probably also have people handling the taxes for them. Whereas Living Trusts used to distribute to heirs is done many cases by individuals that don't want/need lawyers setting up and rely on Turbo Tax to do the tax returns.

Turbo Tax Business needs to be improved

I have used TT Deluxe for many years and I expected the Business version (used 2 years) to be just as complete and easy to use as Deluxe. It's not. I had to do far more research for specific forms (e.g 1099 OID) than I should have to, because who wants to submit a half-baked return. The TT Community helped me fill gaps but what a waste of time. Get the Business/Trust version up to speed or I'll drop it next year.

Horrible experience with worthless Turbo Tax Busi

My experience with this software is HORRIBLE. I am unable to transmit the return and it appears from the help area that this is a very common problem. I will absolutely not use your program in the future, will let anyone asking about your program know how worthless it is, and I want a full refund.

Great for Federal return, not so much for IL

I have been using TT Business and Premier for many, many years.
My wife passed away 11 years ago & left us a family trust. We receive a K-1 and an Illinois K-1-P from a partnership in which she had ownership. I must issue K-1s and Illinois K-1-Ts for the beneficiaries of this family trust. TT Business handles the Federal returns GREAT. However, it is very lacking in its support for the Illinois returns. I don't think it has kept up with IL tax regulations, and/or there seems to be some bugs in the program. None of the support options were helpful at all. I was forced to research the issues myself at the Illinois Dept of Revenue website and override a number of entries on the Illinois tax forms.
I am a very long term user and, in general, have been a very satisfied user. Over the last 2 years, and this year in particular, the Illinois Business program was not very helpful for my Illinois returns.
