Turbo Tax Business...Every year for 20 + years!

Turbo Tax is always my tool, as is Quickbooks. Although, I was disappointed that I couldn't import from my 2019 Premier version. No longer supported. Otherwise, very pleased, and was excited to discover that online filing is now available for S Corps.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved

No State Download access

The turbotax software is great to prepare your taxes however the download link for state returns does not work. Will not process credit cards without an error stating credit card cannot be authorized. I tried downloading using 8 different credit cards! No state return!
Pros: I moved

TT Business needs to be able to import financials
on March 16, 2023

TT Business worked well for my trusts, but it really needs the ability to import financial data from institutions. TT Home & Business has the ability - why not Business?????

Needs some tweaking

For the most part, the TurboTax Business edition works great. However, there are two things that I think need improvement. First, the K-1s did not print out the Statement A to support the I-STMT in box 14. Secondly, there needs to be a better step-by-step for the QBI information. It's confusing and doesn't flow through the forms very well.

Tax Year '23: Tax prep 7/10, Platform support 2/10

For tax year 2023
Tax prep 7/10
Overall I was able to complete my business taxes and the process was classic TurboTax for most of it. Having the ability to import the prior year's information is a huge time saver. Importing a prior year's TurboTax data makes this very simple (I have not tried importing from another product, not sure if that is supported). This was slightly less enjoyable as there were several instances where I had to manually create or edit forms. There was guidance in the interview though I felt this could have been handled without having me drop into the form. To me, I pay TurboTax so I don't need to look at the form unless I wish to. My California State return for this LLC was having the most trouble. This wasn't even something quirky IMHO, it was basic depreciation of assets worksheets. One thing that may have contributed was, I removed two assets (assets that had been important from prior years) during the interview that I no longer had (no longer on schedule). Also, there was an employment credit form that I was not eligible for that the software insisted I correct and complete. I eventually just deleted the form since I knew it was not something I was eligible for.
Platform support 2/10
This is the 7th (out of 8 years) I've used TurboTax Business. In my business I only have Apple / macOS based computers. I've had to acquire several versions of Windows (to keep up with supported versions), install and Microsoft Windows setup solely to use this software. Currently the only online version from Intuit I could find either did not provide the features I need, or required included "expert preparation," which I did not want to use (or pay for). What is the point of DIY if required to have assistance from "an expert?" In terms of platform support, the online capability is not important for me, but as a Mac user and business owner I expect to have TurboTax Business available on the Mac. I've looked for it for 8 years, and for some reason Intuit may not think there's a business there. Not sure why, maybe I'm wrong. As a technologist, I don't believe it would be technically difficult to bring TT Business to the Mac since Intuit already offers product lines on the Mac including the personal and home editions of TurboTax, and Quickbooks. If there were the web-based quivalent for TT Business, this would provide the availability for all platforms, including even the Linux Desktop users. For myself (and I assume many other DIY business users), having a Mac version of TurboTax Business would provide a significant value as I would not need to maintain a Windows environment.

Would not transmit second business return to IRS
on March 16, 2023

I have been using this product for nearly 20 years. This year, I used the Business version to file for 2 S-Corporations, just like I did last year. The first corporation had no issues. The second would not transmit. Even after getting the experts on the line. Had to file manually, and because of the delays, was late. I'm going to enjoy working with the IRS on that penalty.
