Turbo Tax requires upgrading Quickbooks

For years I've bought TurboTax Biz to facilitate ease of pulling Quickbooks data and filing my business tax return. Imagine my surprise under time crunch with March 15th looming to find my version of QuickBooks (prior to 2020-2023) was no longer compatible to import into TurboTax -- cheapest QB Desktop is NOW $799/year (Yep, that just gets me to next year) and if I don't renew, then I can't use the software! Of course, there is no backward compatibility once I switch, so I'll be stuck with an annual cost bigger than my entire tax bill before purchasing TurboTax ($120) + State Return ($55). Tough putt for a sole proprietor---it will now cost me much more to file my taxes than I owe to the state and federal government. Going manual this year, so thanks for that Intuit. I guess it is time to consider other options for my accounting and tax prep that work well together.

As a small business owner I look for products that I can trust to get the job done easily and efficiently. I have been using Turbotax since I opened my business 7 years ago. I highly recommend their products!

You have to buy QuickBooks Desktop to transfer

Was fairly easy to use, however, in order to transfer information from QuickBooks to TurboTax, you have to purchase QuickBooks Desktop also. This is regardless of you having a QuickBooks account. One of the reasons that I purchased TurboTax Business was because they advertised being able to easily transfer information from one to the other. They don't mention having to purchase another one of their products. Doesn't make sense.

I use Turbo Tax Every Year to file my taxes. I just wish I didn't have to pay for Business and Home and Business because I have two different businesses. That would be nice.
