Helplful, but still the same old glitches

I like Turbo tax for its convenience in transferring old tax return info, computing depreciation, and explaining some arcane things, like UBIA. But I encounter the same problems each year: the program nicely computes that year's depreciation, and then fails to add it to accumulated dep. on the balance sheet. It fails to prompt me to enter "distributions" and I have to override the form. It utterly fails to reconcile the partnership accounts directly on the state form, using California amounts. The K-1 partner reconciliations are also incorrect. But at least I know what to look for!

I have been using Turbo Tax for business and personal taxes for 5+ years, and I am happy with the product. The connection with the state returns for the LLC is much improved over previous years.

You can do it!

Turbotax software has been my go-to for years now. I like how it intuitive it is and how it copies your information to the next year based on what you entered the year prior. I wrap up the year feeling confident that my taxes were done accurately. I'm a satisfied customer that uses both the corporation and personal versions of the software!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Frustrating bugs

Too little info on QBIs, sure I left money on the table. Entering info on PPP Loan caused error on M-1 worksheet so couldn't file electronically. Had to remove and re-enter. Problem noted in community in January and the program was not fixed in time to file taxes electronically when due. Frustrating.

I was not able to upload my New York Return
on March 15, 2023

I had a very difficult experience using TurboTax and QuickBooks.
First I spent hours trying to import my QuickBooks online to QuickBooks desktop because that is the only way to import into TurboTax Business. This was a problem of its own, at the end of it all, QuickBooks desktop was not able to read my qbo. file so I was not able to transfer my QuickBooks to TurboTax. Finally after redoing and inputting everything into TurboTax manually, I ran into a new issue. TurboTax would not allow me to work on my NYC return. I was able to file my NJ return but the NYC return would not appear in TurboTax Desktop. I tried hours to make it work, uninstalled the program, used the official CLEANSTATES turbo tax tool that I found for this exact problem and it did not work. I called support and spend an hour with them, they couldn't figure it out and hung up on me.
Overall it was a very challenging experience, I was not able to fix the problem with the NYC tax return. I hope I can at least receive a refund of $55 for the NYC tax return.
