I tried H&R Block Business. TurboTax was easier

H&R Block Business was harder, requiring more work with fewer clarifications. You constantly had to go to the form and back again. However, TurboTax for partnerships isn't a complete walk in the park. And, you have to keep an eye on TurboTax trying to up-sell you: They don't ask you if you want to file your state taxes, they start you on the process and then try to get you to buy the additional software. Of course, if you've paid attention at all to federal actions against tax software providers offering free tax preparation and then up-selling, you know they try to do this. The good thing about TurboTax is that they have streamlined the process of signing and they reduce the need to manually edit the main form via their interview questions.

TurboTax Business has room for improvement

I used TurboTax for our investment partnership. There are many items on the 1099 form that TurboTax does not address. Non dividend distributions, foreign tax paid, bond premiums, and a few others. Also, the error checking is inconsistent. Sometimes it found errors I didn't know how to fix but when I ran the check again, the errors went away.

Turbotax business is a good tool for small busines

It gets the job done, with a few rough spots. One big complaint: when you print K-1s, only the federal K-1s print, even if the file includes a state return. You have to manually collate the federal and state K-1s. This problem could easily be solved!

TurboTax makes it easier to do business taxes although we business owners dread it. I wish TurboTax were more reasonable in cost. It's just us and our very small business. I likely will be switching to another type for next year.

Major Drawback

We've been using Turbo Tax Business since we started out business. We've always used the Download version. One major drawback or missing link that I haven't seemed to find is the ability to transfer our Intuit Quickbooks Online accounting over to Intuit Turbo Tax.

Easy to use and asks the right questions!

I have been using Turbo Tax for years for my businesses and for personal taxes. It is very easy to use as it downloads from Quickbooks, financial institutions, employers, etc. It's very intuitive and when it is not, it asks the right questions or you can lookup the explanation or get help!
