New York State S Corporation Return

The desktop software has a bug where it automatically delaults the system to 2 shareholders if there isnt one and I had to use a workaround to get past the error in order to file....please fix this bug....none of your agents could help

Works OK, if you buy their other products

I've used TurboTax for a few years for my business filings, and it's normally 4-star, but this year it refused to transfer in my Quickbooks data because my version of Quickbooks is "too old" (QuickBooks 2018, TurboTax 2022). What's more, even though I upgraded my Quickbooks data file to 2021 (thanks to a friend with a newer version) I still couldn't import it: TurboTax requires a new version of QB to be installed on the same machine, else you'll have to manually enter everything. Aside from that hassle, it guides you through most items acceptably well, but will ask many questions that require a web search to learn what it means (e.g. "Are you required to fill out Form X?"). I thought I was paying for a product to translate the tax code into English so that I could work through it; it's quite frustrating when I am still having to read through the IRS website for guidance on what should be very simple items that TT just doesn't explain at all.

Minimal Frustration Due to Straight-Forward App

Turbotax simplified the filing of my S-Corp tax return. The more-info links on the various subsections and categories for expenses, income, assets, etc. were very helpful. I feel very confident I filed my return accurately.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Horribly Buggy Software

It's an incredible irony that such unintuitive software comes from a company named Intuit!
Sometimes it works as designed - answer questions and it generates the proper forms... Other times it will simply tell the user to look up and complete the necessary form... or even worse, generate a form that isn't needed, then create an endless loop, demanding information that doesn't apply, for the unnecessary form, before it will e-file.
Worse yet, searching for a resolution in the online "community" brings up many posts about the same problem... going back for YEARS... yet the bug has still not been fixed.

Systematic, Comprehensive and Instructional

As a first-time user of TurboTax Business Download Version 2022, the installation was fast and error-free. The download version is user-friendly, systematic, comprehensive in features for S-Corporation and other flow-through entities and come with guided instructions. The software pricing deems reasonable, but hopefully can be much lower for the next tax session for returning users.
